25,000ft/lbs at the muzzle....

Probably a repost.... But sweet none the less. 50BMG is around 11,000ft/lbs at the muzzle iirc.

Article says 254,000 ft-lbs (obviously wrong), and I think SSK actually built the .950 JDJ cartridge (rather than .905 as claimed in the article?). Muzzle energy is claimed to be nearly 39,000 ft-lbs for a 3600 grain projectile. Some other interesting projects from SSK, including a more practical (lol?) .700 JDJ shooting a 1200 grain bullet.

Just as an experiment to make the most powerful individually operated rifle, I suppose there is some value, but that thing would be at its best mounted to the bed of a truck. Loaded with a high BC bullet, long range shooting might be more it's forte than as a hunting rifle.
