Review of Daggar SAP6 and Tactical Imports

Thanks for pointing that out, pretty sloppy gun handling on my part. Exactly why i filmed the operation of the firearm, just incase the issues were caused by me.

Cheers

The plus side is I only heard you swear once this time :D

Not the thoughts you wanted to hear?

(I am just teasing, it sucks buying a new toy that doesn't live up to your expectations.... IT REALLY sucks if it just doesn't work......)

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.[/QUOTE]

I agree!

I suggested this was the problem earlier and I still think it is!!

Not sure what you guys mean by locking the rims on the shells when loading? I load the mags the same way i load any of the other mag fed guns i have owned, just push the shells in.

If you could explain this it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

rim lock is in the magazine. when the rim of a lower round is forward of the round above it. then the slide may have trouble stripping the round because its rim is locked behind the lower round.

Is this what you guys are referring too? So when loading the mag the shells should be stepped as for not having the rim of lower shell forward of the upper shell? To be honest i never even thought this could be a problem but now looking at it i see this could very well be the issue now.

I will be heading back to the range and will give her another go and film my loading of the mags.

Thanks for the info
cheers

That's it exactly. Sometimes when loading a magazine, if someone is pushing down on the nose of the cartridge (near the bullet end), it can give the back end some space to tilt upwards as they push the cartridge toward the back ot the magazine, allowing the rim of that newly loaded cartridge to step in behind the rim of the cartridge below it (or, as in this case, shotgun shells). Then when the bolt comes forward to strip a round off, it hitches as the round below is holding it back.

That's exactly what I meant when I asked about your experience with rimmed cartridges.

Well played with all 6 magazine's i have and it is impossible to get the rims to lock on these mags that i can see. I did notice on the one mag were it looks like Ian from Herron arms did a little filling of the ramp and lips ( proper gun lingo? ).

Ill play with them some more and retest.

Something is obviously wrong with the firearm. That video was painfull to watch. I'd demand a fully refund

Did that right off the hop, probably a little premature on my part. My gut feeling at start was this was not going to turn out very good for me and now almost 2 months in seems I am on my own.

Ill keep playing with it in my limited gunsmithing skills LOL. Last outing it did perform better after Ian did whatever he did to it.

Hope to get back to the range this week and play with it some more.

cheers

Not to derail the thread, but my experience with Ian over at Herron is that he's a solid guy and does good work.

Ian has been very good through out this, he even answers emails when really this is not his concern.

I would do business with Herron arm in the future with out a worry, TI on the other hand not a chance. Their communication skills suck IMO and really don't care about their customers again IMO.

Over all I chalk this up to a learning experience. I have dealt with lots of CGN sponsors and never had a problem.

Yup got the SAP6 back and to the range today for a test with 4 different types of ammo, S&B slugs, Score Slugs, Federal Slugs, Rem. 00 Buck.

Ill let the video explain....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9n5qmu1qQI&feature=youtu.be

Thoughts??

We spoke to our gunsmith, he verified that it was working 100% when he tested it. He suspects faulty mags. He told us he'll be contacting you to meet at your range to determine the problem. If that's not the problem then a new SAP6 will be sent to you.

If you review our email string you'll see most emails were responded to within 1 business day. In one case it was 4 business days when requesting a status update...

We care very much about our clients and are doing everything we can. We have every incentive to ensure our clients are happy at the end of the day

Sorry but when I bought this I did not realize I would be part of the Daggar R&D team, so ill pass on your offer. Its easier and less frustrating to just part this out on CGN EE and take the loss

Updated the first post with more video of testing mags. During the testing the rear receiver screw backed out and the front bead screw sheared off LOL So much for the top rail.

I dunno dude. Someone offers a free replacement on an alleged one-off Lemon I'd take it in a heart beat. Same can definitely not be said for my factory new 870 that won't eject... Remington, Dagger, etc all have the possibility of one slipping past QC.

The offer was to have Ian check all the mags then if it still didn't work then they would replace the gun. They had over a month to work on it and it still didn't work as its suppose to. Well until I see video from other owners dumping 11 round mags without a problem then as far as I am concerned all SAP6S are lemons.

I have a SAP6 so maybe I can be of help. Put an empty mag in the gun. Make sure it's locking in properly. Does it wiggle in the magwell? If it does, it shouldn't. I have 4 mags that function perfectly and they have NO wiggle in the magwell. I have 4 that SUUUUUUCK like yours. they wiggle in the magwell. As soon as I get TI's mailing address the 4 bad ones are going back and they will send me new ones as per our e-mail conversation. I can't tell exactly what's wrong with your gun, but for me it's the mags!
