Took the bayo's off SKS's but want to leave the cleaning rod and kit on the rifle.

Even with the bayo rod rattles a bit and makes noise. Anyone discover a useful trick to keep it silent without adding any undue pressure on the barrel?

I think all the rattling the SKS does is kind of neat. Gives it personality. Same with the ringing sound the bolt makes when you release it. It's charming!

Do they make a rubber grommet small enough to fit the hole in the stock ferrule?

EDIT
They totally do, that would be perfect I think

I find the bayonet does the best job of keeping the cleaning rod from rattling around and falling out lol

Really? I find that even with the bayo closed it will still rattle. I use a wrap of thin saftey wire around the barrel and rod, just behind the gas block.

Electrical tape.

The tape doesn't melt after heavy use?

I can't hear it when I'm shooting... maybe I'm weird.

My issue personally isn't the noise, it's the fact that the rod tries to inch it's way out when I "flick" the bayo out.
