Long story short I ordered a muzzle device from miculek.com 3 months ago was suprises by getting a personal email from Kay mikulek thanking me for the order and the day after the shipping notification and my card has been billed.

Well about a month goes by nothing has arrived. I send them an email and get no response. Hmmm I think. Life is busy and another month goes by, email againand nothing. Really starting to wonder but again between work and training I leave it be. Well yesterday I send a third one since now it's all or nothing. A few hours later I got this email response from Kay.

Mr. Grelik,

My sincere apologies for dropping the ball with your order. In the past few months we have experienced almost a dozen shipments to Canada that did not arrive. I thought that I had issued refunds to all of the customers that did not receive their orders. Although I have still not determined the problem, I suspect that shipments of rifle compensators are now being detained at a customs facility somewhere. Until I can determine what is happening to these packaged, we are no longer shipping compensators to Canada. I just tried to issue a refund to your credit card, but the card has expired.

I'm leaving on a trip early tomorrow morning and wanted to take care of this before I left. I have taken the liberty of purchasing a Miculek compensator from Select Shooting Supplies, which is a Canadian company located in Ontario, and am having it shipped to your address in British Columbia. I will send you a copy of the order confirmation in a separate email from address (kay@miculek.com).

Again, very sorry for my screw up. I hope the performance of the product will help with your frustration level.

Sincerely,
Kay Miculek

I got this email and couldn't have been more impressed. It took a while to get to this point but the fact that they did what they did speaks volumes about their business and their level of customer service. I believe they some how just didn't receive my emails and didn't just ignore some canadian ordering a small part across the border.

It's unfortunate that they have stopped shipping to Canada for the time being but at least we have a dealer here carrying them.

Just thought I would share this stand up story with you folks.

I think maybe Mr. Miculek did not follow the proper transport procedures for shipping items controlled by ITAR. If so, then this would have been stopped somewhere in the US, not Canadian customs.

Yup, Kay is awesome to deal with. She treats every order with a personal touch. She once sent me an apology letter because my order took 8 business days to arrive. I thought that was great delivery time but she said she could do better. lol

i was wondering how they manage to ship these comp out of the US. Coz any muzzle devices needs an export permit

Nothing to say but great things about Kay. Took care of my order issue when 1 of 2 grips didn't arrive within minutes. For an busy lady, she keeps the business ticking!

Yes, but which side of the border are they getting stuck at? If they cross the border, CBSA doesn't care whether the seller had an export permit, just whether or not it is permissible in Canada.
