2015 BC Precision Rifle Championship June 19-21, 2015

Equipment Rules are the same for both classes:
a. Rifle Rests - Acceptable rests include: Slings, bipods, rucksacks, dragbags, monopods, your spotter, a sand sock, your hand or shooting gloves meeting DCRA TR rules.
All rests, bi-pods, etc must remain above the surface of the firing point. no bearing or plunging below the firing point surface is allowed.
b. Forbidden Rests - Unacceptable rests include: Bunny ear bags, shooting cradles, sleds, tripods, return to battery setups and the Sinclair International bipod.
c. Slings - No limitation on type or style.
d. Mercury recoil reducers are permitted.
e. Flash Suppressors / Muzzle Brakes - Limited to factory production rifles that are originally
equipped from factory.
(custom breaks strictly forbidden)
f. Shooters using Flash Suppressors and Muzzle Breaks as defined in sub-section e will be
squatted together and away from competitors not using said devices to help litigate any disturbance or interference caused by a for mentioned devices.

A spotting scope is a good idea but not necessary.
Keep asking questions we don't mind. We want more shooters. It really is a fun time.

Thanks again. hopefully Ed can shed some light. I just don't want to go through the hassle of taking the brake off and sighting in again. That plus I'm sure I'll come in last place with or without he brake. I just want to go and have fun and support the shooting community.

Your point of impact should not change (much) when you take of your brake. I know some one who shoots brake on and off and no change in zero on a TRG

There seems to be conflicting information here.

Bloodstriker asked:
"Also, I intend to use my TRG 22 .308. It is equipped with the Sako muzzle break. It is a removable factory muzzle break, and not a custom. Would this be allowed?"

twosmokinspades answered:
"They will pair you up with someone. You are not allowed to use the sako muzzle brake. But if it's an AI PGW it's allowed. A bit of a stupid rule but never the less it's a rule and we will live by it"

twosmokinspades posted the rules:
"e. Flash Suppressors / Muzzle Brakes - Limited to factory production rifles that are originally
equipped from factory."

I am curious as I intend to shoot in the competition using a SIG SSG3000 that comes equipped with a flash hider. I've never taken it off and would prefer not to. However, I will do if the alternative is that I cannot shoot. To be clear, I just want to make sure I comply.

BTW, I am signing in as a single shooter as well and I am a very green. I have to learn a lot in the next several weeks. I'm nervous about it but also really looking forward to it. My registration is on the way.

Thanks,

KeltecFan

I am not sure about your SIG. There was a lady last year with a TRG she was not allowed to use it but otheres with AI were. So if your rifle came from the factory with it it can stay. If you got it after and put it on your self if can not stay.
Last year I was green (at precision) it was lots of fun. I have seen good shooters have a bad day and shoot worse than than every body.
Come out have fun meet some like minded people you won't be disappointed

There seems to be conflicting information here.

I think it's different for the TRG because Sako doesn't install them at the factory. You buy the rifle and then purchase the Sako muzzle break afterwards if you want it (I have seen some gun stores install it to sell as a package deal but I don't think that counts). Your SSG is a different story and based on the rules posted it should be allowed.

Now I get it. I didn't know that about the TRG. That is a difference.
Thank you Shabazz for the info.

I wouldn't worry about rezeroing as there is a walk back for everyone on the friday afternoon. Failing that I'm sure they can stick you muzzle break guys on the end away from everyone else. I'm not even sure why it's an issue. We shoot beside muzzle breaks in Ottawa so I'm not sure why it would be any different here. It would be a real shame to miss this match because you have a muzzle break! Just come out and we'll figure it out. Bloodstriker there will be plenty of spotting scopes to go around. I may have a spare myself you could use. Don't worry about partners either. There are always lots of single shooters to team up with. Come try the match. You won't be disappointed!

Since I am not able to make it out for this match I went out and practiced some 1/2 inch dots of doom today anyways (I know it is supposed to be 3/4" dots but train hard fight easy;))

I have only attended one of these events before and it was a ton of fun!! I will be at the Van Isle matches later this year. Good luck to everyone and happy shooting!!

And now some ####.

Thanks Longshot. I won't be able to make it to the sight in day as I have to work but should be there for the match.

Wow it's that time again !

I'm finally coming back to BC after a LOOOOOOONG time away.

Tickets booked and I'm only one week in town, I'd like to come out and shoot for the Saturday...sadly I have time for one day

So...

Anyone need a partner and willing to shoot one day only?
I have no gear set up, I would need to share...so this would be 'hotgun'
I will reimburse for all rounds

pM me if this works for anyone

Ed...pm incoming

Are there sighters during the match like in Service Rifle?
No sighters. If you are not there Friday you will want to bring your zeros with you. Its lock and load and away we go on Saturday morning. First shot is 600m for score.
I have been sorting through a s*** load of targets. I will try to post some pictures because there are new ones this year that will make you sweat.
