Target Sports Canada Membership

i waited 2 months from the day i paid for membership until i did my CLSC. no big deal since i was made aware of the wait time when i paid (i asked them approximately how long i would have to wait).

Goin on 7 weeks since paying for membership but still no word of my CLSC.. They must be pretty backlogged

They only hold the courses periodically. You just have to wait until they schedule one. I'm looking forward to them holding the holster course again.

they will be doing that after the renovations are completed. im waiting to take the basic handgun and holster courses.

I got the word from Dr. Hawke that he signed my ATT application today, so I expect it will be at the CFO's office by Monday, so I hope to take my restricted a to my next session.

I sent an email to Dr. Hawke based on the suggestion from JR earlier in this post. I've tried communicating via the Grange's membership email address with no response. My six weeks is up on Monday (and when I purchased my membership in April, I was told 4-6 weeks, which is also still what is posted on the Grange's rarely updated website). For a club that commands such a premium price, they have cheaper-club levels of communication. Was there such a sudden intake of new members they have no way of getting additional volunteers to help run the CLSC? Hell, once a member, I'd happily volunteer my own time to help keep up with things (including keeping that web site up to date at least weekly).

For the money they ask of their members, they should not be running the kind of service one expects at a small, private, volunteers-only club. They should be head and shoulders above the rest and look and act the part. I don't think it unreasonable to expect that they have enough support staff to manage safety courses within a month, to keep their site updated regularly, and to respond back to email queries within a few days at most.

BTW, I know this is not JR's issue, but rather Grange's - however this seems to be where this discussion is taking place.

paying $ 550 with below 0 service is unacceptable

yes , it is a non profit operation

and please someone correct me , you can pay for a secretary 20-25 hrs a week to clean the back log, answer few emails, fix the badge machine ........

and the list goes on.

I don't really know why things are the way they are. It's not a great sign when there's ALWAYS an excuse why things are behind and then never get caught up. I know some of the delay is from the physical upgrades in the ranges, but there's a limit to the amount of waiting that can be expected from members.

Since membership officially starts when your ID is processed, I expect to start hearing about the club meetings soon. Perhaps attending them will clear some of this up. There should probably be an annual general meeting of the membership that will allow for questions and answers.

fix the badge machine ........

im looking at my membership card right now and it looks so simple. it looks as if it is printed on plain paper (or possibly photo paper) and then laminated with a $100 laminator. there really isnt much to it so i dont understand the delay.

My latest email from B.J. Is that the computer problem screwed up their email system. Some messages were showing up as SENT without actually being transmitted. They just disappeared from the server.

Did she mention if she got a bunch of new ones sent in from Grange? Either way I'm going to call in the morning and find out if mine is there too. But just curious if it sounds like things are finally rolling again.

She checked by my RPAL number, so I'm thinking she got a batch of them.

CFO has my ATT application. Looks like things at the grange are rolling again. Only took 8 weeks for them to send it in lol. Either way I'm very pleased the wait is almost over. Hopefully the CLSC's start up soon for all those new members too.

I am glad to hear that things are progressing. The upgrades on the "B" side also start tomorrow, so all is going along well.

If there are any hick-ups, please let me know.

Regards,

JR

Anyone else been waiting awhile for an email about doing the CLSC? its pushing 7 weeks for me and i've got nothing from them yet.

I'm at 8 weeks this Monday. BJ from Grange finally emailed me yesterday and said it would be another week or two for the CLSC and then another four weeks or so after all the probationary shoots for your ATT. They had email and database issues, according to the email, along with a large influx of new applications.
