Remington Versa Max

I have versa max tactical, love her so much. I put 100 rounds of slugs through her yesterday, my shoulder only sore a bit today, feel like shooting target load with my browning over and under.

I should have bought her long time ago.

Now the question is where can I find a 28 inch barrel with fiber optic front sight ?

I had one of the first ones... Horrible quality for a gun over $1000. Make sure you look over everything. Rib and front sight alignment were off on the one I bought.

I bought it on the ee here. So it was kind of sight unseen and a messy deal that took a long time to sort out.

It did shoot okay though. Never did run all 3 sizes through it back to back to see if it could do it.

Sold it to my dad...

Remington really stepped up their game with the Versa Max shotguns.. There are a few different models of the this gun, some come with rubberized grips and some are plain synthetic plastic stocks. Put a Pattern Master choke (abt 100 bucks) and you will have a really nice waterfowl gun.

However, do look at the Winchester SX3's and the browning maxus..they are in similar price range

I was looking at purchasing a Versa max a few years ago when I was in the market for a Semi-auto. The gun store owner said that they are extremely overpriced and anything Italian has got them beat by miles. I never did end up shooting a versa max to try it out but I bought a Beretta A400 Xplor Unico and haven't ever wanted anything different. Unbelievably great gun... shoots everything and never had one malfunction. I shoot trap with it and have a few thousand rounds through it and it shoots just like it did when I bought it.

plus 1 on the A400, a buddy of mine sold his VM , wouldnt shoot straight on slugs , Got instead the Beretta 1301

Looked at a Versa max at a shop last fall. With the rebate (at the time) the Sportsman version seemed OK. A quick look at one in the flesh changed my mind. The rib was so far out of alignment with the barrel it was terrible. I pointed it out to the counter person and they just said "someone will buy it". I am a Remington guy but be advised look the gun over closely before purchasing.

Where did you buy that? I can't seem to see anyone in Canada who carries them.

You're the 2nd guy to mention this. Doesn't look good.

I guess I'm just lucky. Own two versa one waterfowl pro and one sportsman turkey. Haven't had any issues with either - I've shot everything in them 2.75 - 3.5 shells never had a miss load or cycle. Used the waterfowl pro for ducks/geese trap, 5 stand, sporting clays. The only thing I haven't shot are slugs - got an 870 sps for that ;-)

Anyway's I highly recommend them.

Bought mine from Bowyer's outdoor sports in Maple Creek Saskatchewan. He's a great gun dealer and gave me a really good deal. Even had one in stock that I took home that day.

I was very close to buying one earlier this year. I sold off one of my pumps to buy it, but ended up with a Beretta A 300 outlander in camo, don't need 3.5", my pump that I sold was, the a 300 so far has run the lightest loads (can tire special) and heavy 00. Couldn't be happier with mine
