Here's an interesting pic in remembrance of D-Day. This pic shows a Canadian from the 1st parachute battalion, who landed on the 5th. Question is what gun is he holding??? It sure as hell isn't a Sten and the sidewards mag and mag style are not a Reisling.

edit: OK I found it, but I wont disclose yet, I'll leave it to you folks to come up with it.

Picture is of a commando too not parachute regiment.

Picture source named him to the 1st parachute batt, as the pic isn't mine that is just what I put up. But you are correct the insignia on his shoulder appears to be a Combined Operations Commando insignia. Bellow would be the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion insignia.

I betcha you're one of those guys that notices when a scantly clad woman's finger is on the trigger.:)
At least I hope it's not just men that draws your attention away from the subject at hand! Unless you are a woman.

Iam definitely not a trigger Nazi, But on these slow work computers the image loaded fairly slow and I was stuck looking at his unibrow for about 10 seconds

Missing the thin yellow stripe on the epaulette.

Are you sure? Judging by the wingspan it kind of looks like a Lancaster bomber :)
That is an awkward looking firearm with that 50 round mag sticking out the side so far.

Not as awkward as having it stick out the bottom when firing from the prone position.

1942 Battle jerkin (not sure if this is Cdn or UK manufacture). Seems to be Navy Blue, with pouches for Bren gun magazines:

Here is a link to a thread in which a Cdn. collectore showcases his Cdn. made 1942 Battle jerkin.

These appear to be an early attempt at making a modular web gear system. Sort of like the Cdn. 'Bosnia vests' of the 1980s.
