Hi guys,

I have an old ithaca shot gun from an old timer, and he wants me to sell it for him. It is In my possesion, and I will be handling all comms, and shipping of it.
I am just needing some more info, and a value on it. He wants quite a lot for it, and I am not sure of its worth.
He called it an ithaca grade V. It is a 32 Inch single shot, break action trap gun. Going by the serial number I think it was made in 1958?
SN is 404477. Looks pretty fancy, and if my detective skills are right, it is a knick model?

Any help is very appreciated.
Thanks guys!

He also has this other stock with it, but it has had an addition to the upper cheek weld part, and serial is not the same on it, so I don't think this one was original. All other numbers match though.

The only thing I can see that is not stock on the gun, is a fiber optic clip on sight on the end of thebarrel, but it looks like it would come off without issue if someone did not want it.blue ing is original, and is, I'd say 90-95% at least.

A quick net search shows asking prices of $3500.00 to $5000.00 in the US with guns being sold. Some were auctions so who knows for sure what selling prices were. Prices are generally not as high here. The extra stock shown appears to be more what the original stock would look like so strange that the number on it doesn't match. I think the stock that is on it is a custom stock which may have some impact on price. To get top value you would probably have to find someone who the gun fits with the current stocks. What price was the owner thinking?

You actually own that shotgun and have it in your possession. (http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...ssession-of-Item(s)-You-Are-Offering-For-Sale)

An old higher quality trap gun... In today's market I doubt you will get $3000 in Canada... 40 years ago probably...

she is a sweet rig and I am sure someone will be glad to have her ,I am just not sure this would be the best place to sell a gun like this ,,state side would bring a lot more cash for sure ,,good luck Dutch

He was wanting around 3000 with both stocks.

It is sad but I would be suprised if one could get 2/3 of that in canada. Not saying it is not worth it just that the market for a gun like this is almost gone up this way
Like another member said years ago yes it would bring good dollars but I cannot see it today. Most guys that liked and used these are dead
All the best however with the sale and thanks for sharing
Me I would be looking to move it state side. I am sure someone like Prophet River could help there for a percentage. Would not hurt to ask
Cheers
