Bought this from Wolverine on the salesman's recommendation. Fired a few rounds though her when I first got it but didnt feel comfortable where I was shooting. Waited till I got to our cabin at the lake and joined the local gun club. If you can believe my luck the range was closed while forestry did maintenance. Finally got to sit down and sight in my scope and was having problems with FTF. Thought I was loading the mags wrong. Kept happening and finally I noticed that the mags were actually dropping out. Looking for the cause I found this.

Waiting to hear what Wolverine is going to do. To me its cut and dry that its a serious manucaturing defect and they should send me a new gun. Thoughts? Anyone have any reason why I shouldn't get a new gun?

This is my first real steel weapon. I own a lot of good quality airsoft guns and not a single one of them has a quality control issue like this. The T97 FTU cost about 3 times as much as my best airsoft gun.

It happens sometimes. I have a few Norc's and though most are pretty decent, the Chinese can be a tad lax on QC. Wolverine is a respectable company. Give them a chance to make things right and remember, they didn't make it so be patient.

Cheers,

as N.A mentioned Norinco isnt exactly top shelf quality when it comes to their products. it really is a "get what you pay for" world with fire arms.

Contact wolverine supplies and explain the issue. They are some of the best people to deal with and im sure they will take care of you, weather it be an exchange or warranty i cant say but dont stress your self out about it!!

My sales guy takes forever to respond to emails. Sometimes a week and unfortunately I am not going to spend my hard earned money to phone him from the lake on my cell phone. I just want to know whats happening. Not an unreasonable request? Also thanks guys for the quick replys. And honestly I sent them the video of the issue a week before they even got the gun back. I dont see why they didnt forward it to the importer and leave the ball in there court. But I do realize customer service is dead in this day and age.

I had the pleasure of dealing with N.S for warranty issues... Fortunately for me I only lost my gun for 14 months.... Top shelf service...

The Beowulf fits tight. Since when should you be able to drop out a mag by putting light pressure forward on the mag release? Everyone i have talk to with a T97 cant drop a mag this way.

You shouldn't be able to, but kind of hard to say it's the rifles fault when we only see it happening with an aftermarket magazine. It probably is the rifle but the Canadian poly magazines have not been very consistent. Ie the first gen and 2nd gen vary quite a bit. Would have been nice to see it with a proper USGI mag.

So apperantly they are going to "fix" this. Can that be welded and is that an acceptable repair? Doesnt seem right to me at all. How are they going to fix the finish on the gun if its welded?

Might just need to replace the button on the mag release, could be that it's too small and the hole is the right size. But who knows maybe they're going to jb-weld it, isn't that what those Chinese guns are made out of anyway?

your problem was a common issue for the type 97 , there was no problem on older norinco m4. the distributor knows that . most of the time , I would wait for some time before i buy a new design gun ,wait for debugs .
