I scored some 3.09 123 grain soft points for a nice price.
Plan to run them in my 303 with 37.2 grains of IMR3031

anyone else do this ?

My rifles bore seems great and was today shooting point of aim at 160 yards with 150 grain soft points (.311) backed up with 39.3 grains of IMR4064

try it, I have a P14 here that shoots better with .308 bullets then it does with .311 or .312 bullets, 168 grain SMK group under MOA at 100 yards out of it

when in doubt abot 308-311 stuff send ganderite a PM, but he'll likely be here soon enough to tell you the same as myself.

Set up 3 different loads with these , The bullets are slightly loose.
Like you can turn some of them... But in the bolt action we only load 2 at a time , so it should be a non issue

Did 37.2 38.6 and 40.1 grains of IMR 3031 , test fire and inspect tomorrow.
I hope these are half ways accurate at 160 yards

next time you size, put a 30-06 expander assembly in your die so that your expanding for a .308 diameter bullet, that will tighten your neck tension up, short of that don't be afraid to apply a light crimp on the ones you have loaded now

Depending on your dies, resizing a second time without the decapping rod in (since it has the expander button on it) can sometimes tighten them up enough to hold the smaller bullets. My 7.62x39 dies will do this but my .303B FL sizer wont for some reason (.308" bullets are just a touch loose). Thankfully my 303B collet neck sizing die with a .308 win decapping rod will. All Lee brand dies if that makes a difference.

I wouldn't use the lighter bullets on game with full loads as they may be designed to expand at lower velocities than those attainable in the .303B. They might come apart too quickly and give very poor penetration. For punching paper or target shooting they're perfectly fine.

Just plinking rounds :)

Great idea on the expander , not sure if they mix and match across brands lol

Looking thru all the stuff I got before I started reloading....Lo and Behold...A factory crimp die in .303 :p
Don't take much to snug them down , very happy .

Gonna go buy the other 500 bullets and then go do some shooting, I will figure it out later if they are not super accurate:d
If that means a different rifle to load these 7.62 or .310 bullets in lol...so be it
