Alberta's International-Style Trapshooting Association is hosting the Alberta Spring Opener competition at our new bunker at Beaverhill Sporting Clays on Saturday, June 20th, 2015.

The competition will consist of 3 rounds plus a semi and a final round. Registration for this event begins at 9:00 AM. A shooters' meeting will be held at 9:30 and the first round will begin at 10:00 AM.

Non-member registration is $80 for the event, $15 for insurance, and $10 for lunch.

Prizes will be awarded for the Champion, and for the "B" Class Champion.

As with all International-Style competitions, competitors must use 24 gram loads, 8 or 9 shot.

Directions to Beaverhill (approx. 45 mins):

From Edmonton head East on Yellowhead Hwy 16.

Stay on Hwy 16 Until you get to secondary hwy 834 (there will be a sign saying Tofield) and Turn right (south) onto Secondary Hwy 834

Go to 524 (approx 7 km) and turn right (west).

The first road you come to will be a T – intersection and you will turn left on this Range Rd 191.

Go 1 Kms (south) on Range Road 191 and look for the sign that says Beaverhill Sporting Clays and the gate which will be on the East side of the Road

I did not realize 7.5 shot was not allowed.

Not allowed in the international game. Perfectly acceptable with the Amateur Trap Association. Those who show up with 7 1/2 shot at one of our shoots are allowed to shoot, if they wish, but they are considered 'recreational' class and not eligible win any championships or trophies.

If you're in the market for 24 gram loads, you'll notice that they're only available in 8 and 9-shot.
