I sure like the looks of that rifle!

I'd like to get into something .284 and have a real sweet spot for 280rem. I think the 28N might be a bit much for me. It seems once you get above 280rem the barrels seem to get longer as well - taboo for me :)
 
The case dimensions for the 26 and 28 Nosler are identical so they could be necked up/down.

One of the site sponsors (name escapes me now) and X-Reload has 26 Nosler (Nosler cases).

However, at $96 for 25 cases I'm not in a big rush to buy one of these thing - even for the cool factor.

I would suspect that since now Browning is building rifles in both calibers that eventually someone else will start making brass (like the 6.5 Creed - originally only Hornady brass, now Nosler with others probably following soon).

At least after seeing the prices for the Nosler caliber brass I won't complain so much when I'm buying my Wby brass which seems like a bargain in comparison.
 
If I was interested, I'm pretty sure I'd choose a 7mm Ultramag, the performance is similar, and brass is usually cheaper than $2/ea, even though it needs tweeking. That said, speed sells, and I'm sure the 7 Nosler will acquire a dedicated following.
 
Beside 7mm RM, 7WSM, 7mm RUM and good old 7mm STW i think .28 N is one too many.
26 Nosler is something that can shine beside 6.5x55 and 260 Rem.
What they should do was something bigger than .30 because even 30cal has way too many choices for each preference and situation. Only problem is there is nothing that is missing even in 8mm or 338 there is couple to choose for each.
Maybe some nice 338Nosler could fill the gap for those longe range hunters but beside 338 Lapua i dont think they dare to test those waters just yet.
 
The LRM runs abouth 71gr of H1000 or 73gr of Retumbo behind 180s. From what I am seeing, the 28 Nosler is closer to 90-92gr of Retumbo. Granted you may get a little more speed out of it, but I dont think it will be much.

My LRM reamer is on its way. Already have everything else. I am expecting 3200fps out of my 30" tube. Dont think the 28 Nosler would get much more than 3300fps.

The LRM is a Gunworx proprietary 7mm-375 Ruger wildcat.
The 28 Nosler is basically a slightly shortened 7mm RUM if Im not mistaken. This allows it to be run in standard long actions.
