This is just opinions without any judgment about anyones choice.
No need to contradict someone opinion just because someone dont like your gun or make,
What is money,function,durability and quality best bolt action rifle that can be bought without some custom made orders.
There is plenty to choose;
Winchester M70,
Remington, Weatherby, Tikka,
Sako,Mossberg,Ruger,Sauer,
Steyr and many others.

Best bang for the buck and least as well...

tikka !!!!!.......i have four of them ...... a .223, 2-6.5's, and a .308 .....traded all my others for them......all my tikka's shoot under an inch with selected factory ammo.....i had 2 other's .....a .270 wsm and a .300 wsm ......they also shot under an inch ......i sold them because of the recoil

Gonna get a lot of answers for a lot of reasons I'm thinking. But what the heck I'll bite.
To date I think I have owned a fair few of the bolt brands available today including Savage, Tikka, Weatherby, Browning, Marlin, Remington, Mossberg and Ruger. My favorite of them all and the only one I still have is my Ruger M77. Reasoning being it has classic lines, crisp checkering, good looking wood, strong action, and there isn't a single piece of plastic on the damn thing anywhere. Just wood and steel. It shoots well for me in all positions, not something I could say about some of the other rifles (Mossberg in particular).
Oh and for $200 a Mosin Nagant 91/30 is a hell of a lot of fun too. ;)

European brands like Steyr, Sauer, Merkel, Heym, etc have always been well worth their added cost to me as they provide a superior fit and finish that I look for over North American brands.

They also have options for their rifles like no sights, fluted barrels, threaded barrels, muzzle brakes, barrel lengths and profiles, scope mounts, etc all done by the manufacturer so you retain that level of fit and finish throughout the whole package. Factory European rifles also have a much higher resale value and are easier to sell than any custom built/modified North American brand
