Ithaca 600 O/U thoughts?

I'm looking to buy an O/U for sometimes and happened to find an Ithaca model 600 in 12gauge fixed mod/full chokes it has independant ejector barrel selector. I've learned the barrels are not blued but chromed which happens to be more durable than std blueing. It also has gold trigger and engraving on the receiver.
I'd like to have inputs from users since it seems to be good quality and I could buy it for 400$.

Made by SKB in Japan, many (myself included) consider them to be equal if not superior to Browning. Great gun for that kind of money, although spare parts could be a problem as the company that built them is now gone. I have a mid eighties vintage SKB 500 that is near and dear to me. The series' ending in "05" had screw chokes. Weatherby shotguns were also made by SKB.
 
For the price point, it seems a no brainer.
Buy it, try it out and if it fits, booooooooooom.
If it don't, put it in the EE and make a wee bit oh reeb $$.

to make 'nudder won.

I thought about this the main thing I wish to have on a O/U is ejector and barrel selector, chokes are a plus but I always end up using mod or full on my pump and semi so I guess that will not be such a problem...

Have the 605 which I picked up to use as a hunting gun. Had one several years ago that got traded off and have found them to be a very durable and quality gun. At $400.00, if you can live with the fixed chokes, buy the gun.
 
Thanks everybody here are some images let me know what you think. we can see it has been used but if it function good I have a great gunsmith not charging much to work on it.

 
Looks like a good serviceable gun but a couple things:

- Get rid of that sticker on the gun from the registration days. Perfect example of the flaws in the registration system as that gun has a serial number in the indentation on the bottom of the receiver.

- Stock has been cut and a pad added.

- Front sight has been swapped out.

Mention these as a FYI as don't affect function. It's worth the asking price you've mentioned.
 
Well - Its impossible to tell if the gun has been shot a lot.... Do the standard checks for an O/U ie lever to right of centre, and the breech is tight on face. A fail on either scenario, is a no go, even if your gunsmith does the labor for free.

Looks like a period correct Ithaca raybar front sight to me. Rarer is that it is a blued model 600 as by far most were the french grayed silver finish.
Excellent guns, I have owned several and still retain a 20 ga.
