I use it for bulk blasting / 3gun loads. In the last couple years I've loaded and shot 2-3k rounds using this powder, all 223 with 55gr bulk bullets. Been plenty accurate enough for what I use it for, when I really hunker down and try I was able to do several sub moa 5 shot groups with a 18" AR and 6x scope.
 
Not bad, not a target powder for .223 anyway as I get about 100fps spread, meters well (ball), works good in .308 with lighter bullets. OK for loading cheap ammo for bulk blasting. Use 5% less then H335 data for start/max.
 
I use that powder exclusively. I find it to be more than accurate enough for hunting purposes. I load it in .223, 7.62x39mm (when I'm not Mexican Matching), .30-30, .303Br, .308, and .30-06. I have found it tops out at the .30-06 for heavy bullets. I have used it for .300WM, but it didn't perform well using far too much powder to get a reduced load performance. So, since I don't own anything chambered in the cartridge, I don't have to stock any other rifle powders.
Note: I was given 5 lbs of 3031 a few years ago. Coincided with my wife getting a .243 and I have used that to build coyote loads for her. Not that she shoots them, since my coyote hunting is done mostly in the winter, when she likes being by the fire.
 
I just traded for this powder and couldn't find any data for the 30-06, I was gonna load it for my new Garand but might just save it for 223 since there is available load data. What bullet weight are you using in the 30-06? 150gr?
 
I have used this powder exclusively for .223 with bullets in the 55 grain - 69 grain range for years already. I have obtained some of my best accuracy and velocities with it. The biggest shame is not being able to get more of it any longer. I have tried it in the .308 with less than stellar results.

Lyman54: Not trying to be a d-bag but you really should amend your post or the mods should delete it. Unfortunately, too many folks have limited readings skills and may not read all of the posts - you definitely don't want to mix up 5% slower with faster. I use this powder for .223 Rem which it does alright for - it strikes me as very similar to H335 with a bit of a funnier smell. I am considering other calibers with it considering that I have so much. Anybody willing to share a 7.62x39 load or a .308 Win load that shoots well?

In .308 with 110gr Vmax and WIN mag primer, Norma brass, 45gr 735 is around where I start to get a good neck seal.
For 150/155 anywhere from 40-42gr depending on bullet used to get the same.
I use mag primers for ball powders, Speer manual got me onto that...
 
I am assuming that your 7.62x39 is the Zastava you mentioned in the H&S Rifle Forum. Did you slug the bore? I am trying to figure out what the bore size is. Not trying to turn it into a precision rifle but if I can get a sub 1.5-2 MOA hunting load, it may become the new truck gun for gopher and scouting.
 
Haven't slugged it, but I have some .308,.310, and .311 loaded up. I still need to float the barrel and bed it first....
 
I'm glad it's back in stock (and a bit surprised as it's Surplus which usually means it's no longer in production and is thus finite).

I bought 8 lbs a few years back and use it exclusively in 223 and 7.62X39 for which it's perfectly suited. I treat it like H322.

Not true - teh way it works is the .gov puts out a tender for X amount of powder that is in Y burn rate range. They then take delivery of, oh I don't know, say a trainload of it and take it to the lab to work up loads in a bunch of different cartridges and then run the production until they have what they need. What is left is usually not enough for a complete production run (for instance 50 million rounds of 7.62x51 or the like) and is sold as "surplus". It's not that it isn't made any more it is simply surplus to their needs at the current time...
