Bought a Ross M10 from Epps last year, it was in rough shape. Barrel was cut down to 20" or so, most metal was painted (with a brush) black. It had the military flip up sights, no front sight blade though..
The stock was so poor fitting that the recoil lug on the receiver didn't meet up with the appropriate face in the stock.. there was about a 5mm gap across the whole thing. So all the recoil went through the forward bolt
Needless to say, the front bolt was sheared in half. Good thing I didn't shoot it.
Found a new bolt (M6 socket cap, believe it or not). Stripped the metal back to what it was supposed to be. I stripped the stock too, for refinishing with BLO (it was a weird varnish before). I bedded the recoil lug and the tang. I put a Parker Hale FS22 globe sight on the front, it makes a nice sight picture with the flip-up aperture.
Took it to the range today, had absolutely no idea what to expect. I first shot Prvi 174gr FMJBT at 50m. Ended up with a few 2 foot groups...... uh-oh.
I then tried my very first .303 reload, never used it before. Actually never shot .303 before. Anyway, some Varget and a 150 gr Prvi SP BT and all the holes were touching at 50m.
I still have some Sellier & Bellot to try.
Pictures will come later when she's purty, the stock is still stripped down to the bare wood. Wanted to make sure its a shooter before I pretty it up.
