It shoots 1/2-1" out of my mark I I BV, 1" out my mostly stock 1022, never printed my iron sighted BL 22 but plinks great with it. A friend came over with his CZ 452 today to see how it shot with different types of ammo, the winner was minI mag hp's.

So how's it work for you? Its hard to find, but I've got some stashed. Haven't killed anything with it yet. Is it the best hunting/plinking/target ammo available. If you could only have on type of ammo what would it be? That is, for all things a 22 is good for?

I'd like to exclude price but for arguments sake you could have it for $0.10 per round.

I don't think I've seen minimag around in near a decade on PEI.
Used to be all I bought, 10/22 and cooey 64 loved it

My .22's love the 36gr HP's and the 40gr RN. It's all I used to buy as the other stuff just wasn't as accurate and had occasional failures. I am down too my last few bricks of 36gr HP, been out of the RN for a year. :*(

It's sad I have to ration .22 ammo. What has the world come too?

I have two cases of MM HP's in the shop that I feed the semi's... I prefer SV's in my 452's... Blazer's in the lever actions... SK St+ or Wolf MT or Lapua C-X when I get serious...depending on which rifle.

honestly the 36gr HP's don't group worth a #### out of my mark 2 camo, but are really good in my henry

blazers are best in my savage, and honestly have had great groups from winchester 333 bulk .22

I'm down to my last 1k or so of the CCI mini-mag 36gr CP-HP's. They are my favorite round as well, as they are clean, accurate, and CONSISTENT. So much .22 ammo these days seem to be half-primed or half-charged with powder or no powder or loose/bent bullet or........

My favorite all around .22 cartridge.

Some of my rifles shoot more accurately with other brands/flavours. For instance, my CZ 452 LOVES the Quick Shot CCI (1740fps segmented hollow points) - really accurate, and hit the gophers like the Hammer of Thor - but they're too fast for most of my other .22s, and don't group well.

But every .22 I own - bolts, semis, break actions - shoot the Mini Mags well.

I'm down to my last 5K rounds of it, though, and I'm getting nervous about that. I'm hoping the shortage ends soon.

Try the Sellier & Bellot standard ammo, my Z5 shoots very well with them. I hit a metal fence post at about 70 yard consistently with irons.

With both the CCI MM HP and solid, on any given day, a rifle may prefer one over the other.
The next time out that will switch. I though both of my 455's liked solids but different lot, different day, different rifle . . . all that can change.
Then one day with 10 rounds of HP's both CZ's made that statement almost worthless.

My gopher go to. Just fired 2500-3000 rds. Great fun but hard on supply. Have enough fo a couple more years. Need to pry some loose fron a buddy, he has lots!!. Yellow Jackets kill gophers very well. Not all of my guns like them as much ,but in my Rem. 451 they work very well.

I think the closest thing which is probably identical is the Troy Landry chootums. They have been available in limited supply now and then. I picked up 1500 rounds of the cci tactical from ammo supply about a week ago. Great ammo. My savage BV shoots tighter groups with sk standard plus. I save the cci for 100-100yds shoot ing as they drop very little.
