Being the devils advocate here,,, is ok to sit in a gopher patch and slaughter 100's of gophers or prairie dogs, is it ok to hook a fish in its mouth, deprive it for air for a few minutes and call ethical sport??? Is it ok to shoot a bear for sport?? All of these stress and harm creatures.....
To those who think this isn't a big deal, I'll make you a bargain. When you're half done swimming across a four mile wide lake, I'll drop a 40 pound pack on your back and see how you do. Sound good?
It was irresponsible and more than a little dangerous. If the animal had drowned, the charge would have been poaching and the boat and everything on it would have been seized, not to mention the criminal records, fines, levies and jail sentences.

Lots of butt hurt. Mildly entertaining. No one was hurt. How many of you catch and release fish? That moose endures that level of stress on a weekly basis. They grow up being on something else's menu and having to run away and fight for its life everyday.
Now that being said, it was irresponsible of the dummy, even more irresponsible for the guy driving the boat, but come on guys relax, remember something dumb you did and got away with, chuckle or pout, whichever comes naturally to you and continue on living your lives.

Yeah on the fence. Probably would have jumped on the moose at 22 as well. If its a "messing with wildlife" violation and consequent fine ok. But that same moose is now roaming around without issue other than having a healthy respect for boat jumping goofballs.

And in reply to the ''I dont give the Moose enough resilience'' comment how do we not know that the guys chased the Moose in the water for any length of time before the jackazz figured it was tired enough so he could attempt his little stunt?
better go back in time to charge Teddy, or perhaps the guy working his logs instead of using a domesticated horse?
Those animals were domesticated and used to that treatment.

Years ago there was pictures around of a guy I think in Bartibog area,he had a Cow Moose and rode her saddle and all.Great for hunting season no fake calling and as long as the moose had hunter orange on.True story.
