American Eagle .22LR SALE!!!

Yeah really. Not that I expect this post to live too long, but this has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Know that this will be my first and last purchase through this store.

Sad too since they seem to ship quickly. It was out the door by 11AM.

they're saving me money by having a sale that overcharges me 8%? I think not.

and you know, I was going to leave this thread alone, my piece was said but they went and raised my ire by editing out all those posts. now it makes them look shady and dishonest...for all we know, they are claiming back the taxes, pocketing the cash and saying they were never collected. bad behavior like this begets bad motives. :mad:

I'm right pissed off now.

Nothing shady about them at all, I frequent the shop and they are top notch. They may not be the most active online but they Run a tight ship and can edit there page as they see fit. Everyone knows prices are up an I'm sure everyone wishes they were back to last year's prices but let's not get all poopy pants.

see Jerry, you're local, so paying your taxes isn't an issue, it's what's right and lawful. what they're doing may not be unlawful, but it's not right...it's lazy. I'm retail, my friends are retail, all smaller than GG and we don't have a problem doing what's right and making a purchase easy and accurate for our customers.

deleting my reasonable complaint is what's set me off! :mad:

kick the hornets nest, expect to get stung.

edit - btw, I'm glad you have good store experiences, that's what supposed to happen. in this case, I've had a bad experience. this is not supposed to happen.

This is literally the first I'm hearing of it. If it is indeed their policy they should state so on their shopping cart.
Also please state exactly where this policy has been stated. I read their terms and conditions on their site and it makes no mention of it.

This is the definition of shady. They're collecting an additional 8% when they're not supposed to.
I even wrote in the order comments with my concerns (and in the follow up email with my PAL info to read the order comments) and both were ignored.
Fast shipping is usually a good thing but not when there's a concern regarding the order. I would have rather waited an extra day to have it sorted then pushed out the door.

You wouldn't have any issues since you're supposed to pay HST because (I assume by the way you worded it) you are local. However, shipping to BC means that we pay only the GST portion and remit OUR PST separately.
What GG has done is effectively triple billed us for taxes. GST (which is correct), their PST portion of Ontario HST (which is not), and the PST we are supposed to remit.

This is by definition a loose ship.
While I understand the whole "it's their sandbox, it's their rules", they only control their part of the sandbox.
Deleting legitimate complaints like this will lead to posts on other sandboxes they don't control.
The RIGHT way of doing things would be to address the concerns and not sweep them under the rug.

I'm not arguing the pricing. It's the taxation on the pricing that I'm arguing.

They stated earlier in this fourm that it was there policy. This topic has been raised previously, see other GG fourm pages. Enjoy your ammo sir.
