how long r pal takes to get in and a good starter gun

how long does it take for the rpal to get in sent mine in a few monts ago and anything to make it go faster and whats a good handgun to stat with 9mm 38 ect..
 
My wife just got hers yesterday and it took about 2 months.You can go on-line and check on it's status at CFC.As for a first hand gun depends on how much you have in your budget and what are your preferences.If it were me 9mm would be a CZ easy to clean,accurate,reliable.If you like a plastic 9mm every S&W M&P I've shot has been accurate,reasonably priced,good value in range kit.As for .357/.38 my 15 year old S&W 686 keeps getting me awards every shooting season.Don't forget a .22 is always a great practice/fun gun for sure.
