Looking for best deal on a russian sks. Surplus ammo / rifle combo would be nice and any tips on what to look for to get a good quality rifle.

First time buyer with limited knowledge, but have done some research.

Look around you can find a reasonable shooter for under $200
you are a couple days late though sfrc was offering "B" grade sks for $149 last weekend

I bought my last two shooter sks from Canadian Tire for 150$ each months apart, if they go on sale again I'll be getting yet another one much to my wife's chagrin.

Canada ammo used to have a combo, sks and a 1200 rds of non corrosive shipped for free. Price was $399, check and see if they still offer it. Very happy with the one I recieved, acurate shooter.

I picked up a seriously beautiful 53 Tula w/ 1400 rounds of corrosive ammo (don't bother me none) for $400 all in at Milarm in Edmonton. Great place and a staple here in Edmonton.

Is it really that bad? I could probably disassemble, inspect and reassemble an SKS in 5 minutes, that's 10-12 per hour. If the standard employee makes $12 an hour that's only $1.25 or so a rifle.
