Was wondering what fellow hunters thoughts on which is the hardest animal you have ever hunted, with rifle or bow? Can include any animals anywhere in the world.

Personally I have only hunted in Canada and the USA and for me it has to be Herd Bull Elk with a bow.

What say you?

Me it was a snapping turtle, i had so much trouble breaking that hard shell to make a soup... JP.:)

I used to catch them in Ontario. Used fish heads and skins, worked like a charm, they are really mean and do they ever stink! lol

Hardest hunt.... For a decent wife with her head screwed on straight LOL
Bagged mine all the way from bosnia.
But seriously, for me, Big Horn rams solo hunting.

For me, chipmunks are the hardest...they're so fast and .50BMG never leaves anything to skin... :)

To be honest, black bear because I'm scared of them but I'm going out this fall with an experienced black bear hunter so hopefully I can get one and get over my fear. He promises me I won't be scared after I see them in their environment. He says they're more scared of me than I can imagine, even a snap of the finger will get them to run away...I don't believe him but I'll go with him to see if it works.

Door mouse the little fellers don't give you much of an opportunity, you usually only see them when they are going full out to the nrext pieve of cover

Finally got himn with a snap shot with a 177 pellet piston at 10 yards

Hunting 2 legged deer is really easy if you ask me, for a couple of reasons!

One, baiting is allowed and they decoy easily, and two the hunting season is year round with night hunting permitted and best of all there are no bag limits!

For me it's cougar, the four legged flavor.
I have dogs, but not for hunting, so it's just me, on foot. I don't necessarily hunt them to shoot, more just for sight. It's hard work and mostly chance, but I get er done.
It started as a vendetta against a particular cat, and I was going to shoot it but chose to sit and watch instead. Good thing too because there were kittens about that I didn't know of.
Four or five years of doing this has paid off twice.
My first sighting, I wasn't the hunter, I was hunted.

Ya, I know all about that kind of hunting haha
Married 1st time at 19... 2 years and a baby son later and things didn't end so well. Then back in the saddle, I ignored bag limits and common sense... Another son later, the 22 years of dual child support.... One begins to see why I haven't been to africa hunting LOL
Still paying for the tags I punched in my 20's LOL

At least my current wife agreed to having a double income, getting her huntin licence and dogs over kids haha
