I thought there was a Sks stock options thread here somewhere... anyway, before I get an Archangel stock for the sks, I wanted to ask about it's pros and cons. Well, more so about any cons it might have?

There's no way to take the receiver cover off without removing the action from the stock. If you're shooting non corrosive ammo it's not too much of an issue.

You do not have to remove the action from the stock on mine, Even if you did you could file the stock down (What I did to other parts of the stock so my SKS could fit in it) so that you could remove the top cover without removing the stock.

Really. That piece behind the receiver cover looked real tight to it. Figured that there was no way to get the receiver cover off.

Hey all:
Pros: great for taller shooters (6/4 here) / pistol grip big improvement over gripping org. stock / comes with two gas tube pins for hand guard / minimal filing to fit / heft and balance improved

Cons: tab to access trigger group hard to remove / watch you dont dump the spring! / cheek riser stiff to adjust and not much use (for me at least) / compartment in grip small

Caveats: I like cleaning my sks / I shoot corrosive / I do not consider myself a bubba

Wishlist: make the comp. in the grip big enough to fit a standard cleaning kit.

Best stock on the market hands down! looks great, very sturdy, very ergonomic. the polymer AK piece behind the receiver will most likely fit tight enough that you will have to remove the gun from the stock every time you take the guts out to clean (i only shoot non corrosive now :) ). You can file the plastic back to allow enough room for the receiver cover to be taken out, but then you will have this ugly seam. The plastic filler piece between the trigger group can be tight from the factory, but this will loosen up over time. The flip open latch on the pistol grip compartment on mine is very stiff, and still is. Adjustable slider on the stock also came stiff from the factory, but has loosened up over time. The stock comes with no slot for a bayonet (didnt like the bayonet anyways) and the stock also doesn't come with any picatinny rails or provide spots to mount them without lots of third party work.
