How long before sks disappear from market?

Wow! Sold almost 2000 SKS's in 3 weeks? 100 rifles per day? With such demand, I guess there also must be lineups at Wanstalls, HiCaliber, Reliable, Frontier, Tradex Lever Arms, Cabelas. Did I miss something?
 
We're not haters, I got two of them and like them alot. It's just I don't think that SKS would be so popular if it cost $1000. I would still probaly bought one, but for me it has some sentimental value.
 
I sell across Canada to dealers and to general public. No problem selling sks it is a problem of keeping it in stock especially with supply getting short for Russian SKS.

I don't think most ppl are hating. I just think the general consensus is they won't really top out any time soon at over $300. Who knows , we could be wrong.

Since you mentioned Wholesale Sport's I thought I could relay what a salesman told me yesterday!!!"They have their buyer in Eastern Europe now hand selecting . I like seeing my SKS before I buy!!!
 
Did I miss something? The question was for opinions on what would happen and people have their opinion. I don't see much hating on anyone.
 
The SKS market is divisible by make. While Russian SKS rifles need almost no advertising to sell, they will continue to sell as fast as they come in. Chinese SKS un-issued rifles are appealing to many individuals because they are un-issued and they probably don't have one. They ran short from the market over a year ago and I think whoever can bring them in will do quite well, such as CanAm. I hope they do get them in and are successful in their project enough to do it again. The Yugo SKS on the other hand would get more than a pretty dollar just from rarity. Its been a while since we've seen them on the market and will probably not see them again.
 
The SKS is one rifle, you dont really brag about buying, but that you buy as a tool, a youngster first big rifle, for a fun rifle actually, they are so dead inexpensive, and i will continue tu buy them 2 at the time... I lost track how many i own, 10-12, and there is still room... JP.:dancingbanana:
 
I think they will dry up in few months. Ukraine was a major supper and they are out, Russia has some but what it offers for sale is a scrap metal quality. In the rest of eastern block they are all gone for the past 10 years. Last country in eastern Europe to have them in quantity was Poland they sold 700 to dealer from German. This 700 Skss are already eaten by the system so Westrifle is 100% right. This is the last days of easy to find SKS
 
Well, the supply goes up and down with the political climate, and where the container ships are, we will see more at the present prices for a while and the Chinese ones will come for quite a while yet, the demand for them is connected closely with the price of ammo, when/if that goes up, the demand will go down. There will always be the collectors and they will keep demand up for the primo copies. As for the history,, could someone who knows how, post the pic of Charlie in the tunnel holding an SKS,, one of the most famous pics of the Vietnam war, except for maybe the poor schmuck getting his head blown off!!
 
Oh yes, forgot to mention, all the gear to make sks still exists, in many countries not the least of which is China! Their economy is starting to slump slightly so maybe a few people looking for work and companies with some downtime, hmm lets make a million sks!!

I agree.

I don't buy them for myself anymore unless its something special as a collector item, but I do buy them as gifts. Every firearm owner should have one.


When you think about it, if some dirtbag party like the NDP ever got in, they would have a b*tch of a time trying to prohibit or confiscate 10 million rifles. No one would comply and they would have a class action suite by millions of firearm owners. Like I say, everyone should have one.... or many :)

^^^^ this, there is strength in numbers! Get friends to get pals, and if they have one, get them to buy an sks, or if they are good friends, buy them one!
