I love the Beowulf mag, but the length wasn't right. The length was more like a 5/20 which doesn't do so well in the mag pouches. The solution? 3D print a part!
This was my first go at it and I think it turned out perfectly. What do you guys think? It actually looks a lot less shiny in person.

Good work! Got some from GS Designs for my Mini 14 mags.

I solved the problem of short .50 mags by cutting a piece of hard foam to place in the bottom of my mag pouches. Two Garand clips does the job as well.

Thanks, I had some folded up cardboard in my mag pouches too. This solution will be a lot more usable for reloads/tac reloads though and it helps bring the size back to the 5/30 which will help me stay more consistent in my training.

I've got 2 screws through it as well so the extension can be used to remove the floor plate when i'm cleaning mags. Overall i'm incredibly happy with this and very impressed with the quality that can be achieved through 3d printing. Made a couple minor adjustments and am printing off 5 more now :)

you need to ad some slot in the side like the mag ^^ , what kind of printer do you use ?

Damn! I was hoping no one would call me out on it. Ok, i've updated the file to include the 3 grooves. A little bit trickier than the outer dimensions so i'll just print the 1 to see how it goes first.

It's been printed with a Machinacorp 3d printer.

The op is much smarter than me. I just jammed some foam that computers come packed in into the bottom of the pouch. I saw my first 3d printer at the machine show in 2010. It is a very cool technology. just the medical uses for 3d printing will change the world IMO

Updated version done with tighter fit around the floor plate and added grooves to match the body of the magazine. I'll have 4 more done soon to complete the set!

could just buy the Alexander Arms 10 rounders that are pinned to 5 if you do not like the length

I wanted the steel mags for this. Its also not bottom heavy at all, weight of the extension is about 30 grams but it is very solid still, not to mention these are quite a bit cheaper than AA mags

Wish I had a printer but I've been using this to get my feet wet before I decide to take the plunge. The design work is 100% me though.

I've tested them in my mag pouches and they work just like the GI Mags. Because the extension is held to the floor plate with 2 screws, it can be used to remove the floor plate with ease so it actually makes cleaning easier. Mag extension has no reason to be removed ever. And I have drop tested it a few times on my floor and they don't show an cracking or issues.

The real test will be the 2-day carbine course I'm on next month :)
