2015 Calgary Vintage Battle Rifle Shoot - It's on! (Details in post #2) July 18-19

I was going to shoot one of my Lee Enfields but I can't get hold of the bullets I would like for reloading. I will take it as a back-up rifle with mixed ammo and shoot my 96 Swede. As long as I hit the paper I am happy.

I just got a Longbranch #4 this spring, really wanted to shoot it at the meet but...

It looks great, but I need to adjust the sights, find a good load for it, take some of the "rattle" out of it...

So, yah, gonna shoot my K-31 this year (which has its own issues), because my SVT-40 is in mid "project".

So I feel your pain.

Spectators welcome to come by and watch?

Spectators are indeed welcome. Everyone on the range will need eye and ear protection. You should also plan on bringing all the non-firearm related bits listed on the event notice:

•Food and beverage: Bring your own lunch, snacks, and bottled water
•Hats, sunscreen and bug repellant recommended

It's a few hours after the shoot. My buddy John and I came out from Vancouver for our second time for this event and I was not disappointed. It was a lot of fun, a lot of
sun and a whole lot of bullets down range. We met a lot of last years crowd and a few new ones. All great guys, even the ones that shot better than me :). My hats off to the planners and ROs Henry couldn't make it sadly but Glen took on his hat. Jay and company ran the range and nobody got shot. I will post a few photos when we make it back to Van this week.

Now I have a face to put to the nic. You should pick up smoking to protect yourself from the second hand smoke, at least that way it'll be filtered ;)

It really was a great shoot. I scored much better than last year, made fewer mistakes, although I managed to come up with a couple of new mistakes.

My shoulder is sore as heck, my muscles ache from dehydration, my ears are a bit sunburned (gonna have to give up on b-ball caps and start wearing the Tilley)...

And I feel better than I have in a long time.

Thanks to all who organized it, and to all who showed up to shoot. Great to see all that old gear getting put to use, especially by the guys who really know how to work them.

Sad I never got to make this :( seems like a ton of fun.
Never got to sit at my bench all weekend to load up a few rounds to test
But I definitely will be prepared for next year!
