It barely looks like an SKS does it? The bolt handle is the big giveaway! Forum user Loose-Cannon from Texas had this SKS built, and its come a long way from Siminov’s original beast. He describes his creation…

This is a straight-pull bolt-action benchrest style rifle with a custom chambered Israeli 1919A4 barrel. The action is fully bedded with two aluminum pillars. The magazine is a shortened duckbill-less Tapco and locks in similar to the Marcus adapter via a custom aluminum ramp just behind the Anschutz accessory rail and is removed by my custom “Talon” extended release. The stock is solid black-walnut fitted with a Vostok adjustable buttplate assembly, a solid Ebony nose-cap, and an Ebony grip-cap. The Scope rail was completely custom made as well."

Lol looks like a fun project in the "because I can" category. Milsurp ammo, too (ok, better quality than the M43, but still)... WTG!
 
that's dumb why make a semi into a bolt action? Just start with a bolt action. Its a I want attention rifle, please make commets so I can argue my wacke reasoning for wasting my time on this thing instead of spending time with my kids. That's just my opinion the rest of you probably think it is cool.

Experimentation, experience, knowledge, because one can.

Nothing to do about attention.

Be a pretty boring world if we all owned and liked the sames things.

IMO, no internet forum should be taking ANY time from your children, justified comments or not.

Would I spend that kind of time and money on an SKS? Not likely, but I sure am glad someone did. Equal parts talent and art went into that. I applaud anyone with that talent.
 
I'd be interested in a custom gas block to run the factory gas system. For what it took to get this far, might as well add 1 more custom part and keep the semiauto feature!
