Looks like a polymer frame but the article doesn't mention anything about the materials used. It's got potential!

Two things... first, it's in the early prototype stage and will take years before it will be at full scale production. Second, with the current economic sanctions against Russia it's illegal to deal with Kalashnikov.

that's correct, they turned their sites into manufacturing facilities. oddly enough, was reading an article about how American's are poopoo'ing them because they're not collectible 'Russian' products. LOL!

played with one in Moscow but didn't get to shoot it, also no photos. Also, couldn't take it apart, even though I was allowed to rip AKs apart all day long. Big bowl of MEH in my view, felt horrible in the hands. Racking the slide made it seem like it will have a fair bit of torque when it comes back at speed. trigger sucked huge as did the sights. So, yeah, meh.
