If someone wants to start a "new" .22lr shortage thread feel free.....

I went to MacDonald Sporting goods in portage la prairie.

They had quite a bit of 22lr.

I picked up a brick of Federal gold medal target and a brick of CCI quiets for $120 taxes in.

Theh had lots of other stuff too. Reasonable prices

This ammo shortage is starting to piss me off now....

I attended a neighourhood BBQ yesterday after work. After a couple hours a few of us were discussing the plinking session, me and a friend had on Saturday afternoon. Before long the discussion group had grown to include most of the people there, who all wanted to come try it sometime. As we were setting up play dates, one of the other people started grumbling about how I shouldn't be having all these people over, shooting so much ammo in these "troubled times". I was kind of curious, but wasn't looking for a debate about shooting at that late hour, especially with an unknown. He kept it going though, and dragged others into it. Eventually he got around to his point that, that kind of wasteful shooting is why there is a shortage of ammo, and when it can be found it's way over-priced. Another time I would have, and may yet engage his conversation, but that was not the right arena so I slipped away shortly after.

The bad news is, he went on about the shortage for the rest of the night after I left, and killed the party.

The good news is, I received follow up today from 9 of the people there, and have 3 dates set-up to introduce them all to shooting.

LOL, couldn't resist with the thread title. I went looking for the original epic thread to share my story, and there it was, gone!

I realize this is off topic, so please don't flame me, BUT at least your neighbourhood sounds like one where you can discuss firearms without someone calling 911. You should be so happy to live there. Holy crap compared to where some on here live.

CD

You should have told him that thoughtless douchebaggery like his is why there is a shortage of breathable air.

There's no shortage of anything in my house, but thats mostly because I have a strict rule of deliberately buying more than I shoot.

Any neighborhood can be like this. You just have to seek out honest open minded people.

Hey guys, Im new to shooting so as a newbie i bought a bunch of different types of ammo to try (trigger happy as well). really liking the CCI rounds other than low velocity types. Ive found the kind i like and have a couple(2) bulk Remington 22b 500pcs boxes i dont mind letting go of if everyone is having a hard time finding ammo to feed the guns. only looking to get what i paid and i have my receipt to prove. just pm me if you want them. hopefully someone can use them. im located in calgary.

ps: moderatators, im just trying to be nice but if this is totally against rules then by all means remove it and let me know:) happy shootin' guys/gals!

I just found unobtanium in my backyard!

Mini-Mags!

$32 for 300.

Bought two of em. These should sell nicely when I am thinking of retirement. Alternately, when I feel like putting 10/22 tweakers in their place, out comes a brick for the $200 Marlin for high-velocity precision paper punching and gopher sniping.

If that would be an interest to anyone seeking 22 LR Ammo !

Reminds me of why I no longer shoot 22lr. Can reload 9mm with plated for that price.
Much rather shoot 9mm than 22lr.

Guns are okay here, I live very near a waterfowl hunting area. We hear hundreds of shots on most days of the hunting seasons, so nobody cared about the noise or the guns, the only concern was Mr. DB and his whining about my waste of ammo.

That's the way to do it. I have many years of ammo in stock, but still replace what I shoot (+25%) whenever I see decent prices. There are still deals to be had, just not the $0.04/round we saw a few years ago. Buying today at $0.08 is cheaper than next year at $0.12/round or in 10 years at $0.25/round.

For people in need of .22lr in the Cambridge area there were a couple of boxes of Dynapoint Black Box at the CT on Pinebush, and some Golden bullets too I think it was. Forty-something $$ for the Dynapoints. I passed. Sail had a whole bunch of the Winchester 555's too.
