10/22 trigger job

I have used the standard ruger trigger, the BX (in the US recently, although not in a gun. i actually like that you are able to try them in the package), several mail away trigger jobs on others guns, power custom and VQ kits, as well as kidd and VQ custom packs. for plinking there is very little difference between everything but the standard ruger trigger. for benchrest however, i did notice a difference. overtravel isnt something which i care too much about while benchrest shooting. i do notice the difference in take up as well as pull weight. going from 1.5lbs to 2.5lbs (which is more typical for trigger jobs) is not a huge objective difference (only 1lb), but is a massive relative difference (67%). that being said, paying over $100 more for the kidd single stage than the BX trigger (for example) is a significant price increase (i paid just under $300 for mine).

Well, I just purchased the Tier 1 trigger job from Brimstone. So, tonight I gotta pack up my 10/22 trigger and drop it off at the post office in the morning. The waiting is gonna be the hardest part...

Good for you, I'm sure you are going to love it. When you get it come on out to Kelowna and we'll compare trigger jobs, I'd like to try one of his:)

UPDATE!!! I got my 10/22 trigger back from Brimstone Gunsmiths today. I sent it away June 22nd and got their top Tier 1 trigger job, which features new Rimfire Technologies parts and extra effort in fitting and polishing for the cleanest possible break possible, with ZERO creep. Haven't shot it yet, but did dry fire and WOOOOOOW....I can't imagine how ANY aftermarket trigger could be better than this!! David's note said that it came out with a consistent and clean 2 pound trigger pull weight.

I see no reason to go with the Ruger BX trigger, or paying more than double (maybe triple) for a high end aftermarket trigger. If you can afford to do without your trigger for about 3-4 weeks, a Brimstone trigger job is by far the best deal around.

Hi,
I have done a dozen or so 10-22 ground up builds, trigger jobs, swapped out triggers/hammers/sears etc., in the Okotoks area if you are interested in upgrading, trigger jobs or what have you...retired last week and have a bit of time on my hands...
