Looking for shot in the area, is it getting harder to find commercially?

Anyone know who has it seems unless you make your own it's going the way of the Dodo..

I've never had a difficult time finding lead shot but it is getting more expensive. LeBarons carries it for $66(?) per 25lbs bag. I buy all mine from the store at the Stittsville Shooting Range. I haven't bought any in a few months but it was $50/bag early last winter. Both sell Hummasons shot (from Hamilton area).

Lebaron is $60.63 (special) so no member discounts. Not worth reloading at that price. Hummason is the only way to go and I have a buddy pick it up for me once a year.

My local scrap metal dealer has some in the bags for $1 a pound. Some of it is so old the company that made it is it of business.

Lead would have to get quite a bit more expensive before it wasn't worthwhile reloading .410 and 28ga. Even at $50/25lbs my .410 reloads come out to half the price of factory ammo.
If we're talking 12 or 20, no way is it worth it unless you're doing up special loads that aren't available/are very expensive.

Yes forgot this, I had 12ga on the brain from reloading it. My 410s are below $5.50 (2.5") and $6.30 (3") if you exclude hull cost and the powder was bought before the shortage.

SilverFox, Stittsville normally has it in stock. They do a trip once a year to stock up at hummasons and I would assume that would be soon.

I checked recently all out..

Sounds like a lead sled. While i am down to my last 200 lbs of lead....70 in shot, what i use is homemade sandbags. Simply old jean pant legs, cut off and filled with sand.....haywired at the ends. Have some of various sizes that come in handy with the lead sled, elbow supports, something to sit on to stay dry or make up for low benches. Lots of uses, quick/free to make, not a biggie if they get lost or forgotten at the range.
