My first gun

So this Ruger 22LR is my first gun. I bought it to rebuild into a mid sized, cheap to shoot casual plinker. I thought I had finished in a Blackhawk Axiom, but then I saw/tried the ATI Strikeforce and bought one. The problem with the ATI that I didn't foresee is that it only fits 10/22 factory tapered barrels, and most of the after-market barrels I found were either bull barrel or target cut chamber. I finally found the Dlask 11" Sporter chamber with SR22 taper. It is a still a little fatter than the ATI stock, but with some fitting it did set-up properly eventually. I've sanded off some of the seams in the plastic, cut the front of the top of the fore-end, removed some of the inside of the stock to fit the barrel, installed a bubba'd extended mag release, Chinese MagPul AFG, removed the original top sling to install a 1/4" I bolt for a single point sling hook up, A2 birdcage, Streamlight TLR-1s, and topped it off with a Vortex Strikfire. I am going to do some re-enforcing work inside the stock, and then give it some bubba paint. I will post the finished (lol) product in a few weeks.

The single point sling hook is my favorite Bubba ever. So obvious, so cheap ($2) and it works PERFECT! :dancingbanana:

IIRC any 10/22 must be 26 inches in its shortest configuration to remain non restricted. By the looks of this, it is definitely a restricted or even prohibited firearm.

Edit:

Didn't know it was a charger. I guess it makes a nice little range toy. Lol

Why would you have a footer as this,
Prices are for EMT/cash. Add 3% for any other method. Transfers and shipping initiate after payments clear. Restricteds ship after I receive CFO paper. Proof of PAL always required.
?

Lol if your rimfires are shorter than 26" they are prohib unless reclassified as pistols.
Good to know you have prohib firearms!

The footer is there for EE ads. You'll know it's one of my my EE ads because it will be in the EE and will start with WTS/WTT.

Maybe one time instead of running your mouth, (like every other thread you post in) start by asking questions and don't tell me what I have, when you have no idea.

This is a Ruger Charger restricted pistol, and nothing about it is prohibited.

I concur.

Nice pistol by the way. Looks like its a blast to shoot.

Nice little pistol buddy! I've got the Dlask 11" barrel on my SR-22 as well, I'm always surprised how accurate it is! I've been taking out gophers at 140-150 yds with it, lots of fun! Haha

It is so much fun. The only drawback is that it is restricted, so it's only fun at the range. The longest I can shoot it is 100 yards. It decent at that range but my eyes aren't good enough without magnification to test it's accuracy.

What kind of groups are you getting with it.

Also how are you liking the strike fire?

I haven't shot this barrel yet, so I can't speak to it's accuracy.

I don't really have any complaints with the Strikfire exactly, but it doesn't stand out in any category either. It has an okay 5 moa dot, moderate battery life with CR2 battery, okay controls aside from placement of the power button (they moved it on new models), it is fairly rugged, it holds zero pretty good, and is moderately priced.

Not the best in any category, but still okay for 12" steel plates in quazi-CQB games. I also have an Aimpoint PRO with a much better dot, better controls, better battery life, and much better mount. After shooting the Aimpoint, it is hard to see positive in the Strikfire. There is nothing really wrong with it like I said, but the PRO is just better in every category... other than cost.

Honestly, if you are considering the Stikfire for any gun, I suggest waiting and saving the cash up to get a PRO, it is worth the extra money.

Thanks for the update, I'm looking into getting a red dot soon for my 10/22, I am thinking about picking up a holosun for it though as much as I'd like to spend the money on a PRO or even a H1, cant really justify it for a 10/22.

Well I've put a couple rounds through mine now lol:ar15:
And this is what you can expect at 50yds

Excluding the one "pull" the group is 10 shots in .721" and it was a very windy day

Below is a group at 140yds, same windy day. The glasses are about the same size as the gophers I'm shooting and you can see they'll easily cover most of the holes.

Can't expect much more out of a tiny barrel, I love Dlask stuff haha
