Value of a CZ 858 after reclassification?

Im confused here... so were the CZ 858's in production when the ban happened? if they become un-banned, why wont they start to be imported again by dealers ?

1000$ is too much, 800$ is too much. A used firearm bought for 699$ when brand new was an ok deal with 4 mag, mag holster, bayonet and scabbard, cleaning kit, sling, test target etc..... People think 1200$ + is a deal. It's only a deal if I'm a rat fink idiot with ZERO Google skills and no perception of money or how much they cost before. Just because someone had theirs armacoated means sh!t to me.

So $15.00 for a Lee Enfield 303, $130 for a refurbed Garand and $75. for an SKS should be pretty reasonable ? I mean those were new prices so maybe less 20% ? Prices go up with time . The fact that a Cz858 is now a limited numbers rifle means you get one of 10000 ish . At this time IF they were to be NR I would think $700 ish in really good shape, $500 ish for a lot of them . In 30 years who knows what they will be worth ...

Some vz58 clones are decent the cz858 is mediocre its lacking a chrome barrel the 958 they just got stupid

You are so wrong, oh I forgot you don't have your RPAL lso yiu probably don't know that all restricted cz/czh/FSN etc.. versions have chromed barrels.

As for you saying the valmet M78 is worthy beside your t97, well you better sell that t97 and save your pennies cuz that probably the only way you will get one

Edit, or sell that truck of yours and t97 to get an M78 :-0

Back to the subject of the 858's value. Is $1000 for one in good shape really that insane?

The new 958 is around that, and already has got a lot of criticism, it's not as simple to take down and it is not the same barebones combloc bet your ass reliable light and fun to shoot rifle that has made the vz58 as a platform so popular. Not to mention people also don't care for the railed receiver or the looks.

The csa's as are good rifles but technically remakes of the design and not original military receivers, which for some people is not desirable either. They like their true to roots original type guns even in a longer barrel, it is the closest thing to a military spec vz58 you can get, and now that the 858 from cz will most likely never be sold by retailers again, is $1000 for one too much to pay considering you would have the choice between a 958 or a csa offering for the same price? If you were in the market for a proven reliable, "close to original" variant that also is a symbol of triumph over overreaching oppressive gun laws and a symbolic middle finger to the gun grabbers, isn't that worth the price?

I like the way you think!

I have a basically new (25 shots) 858 and even if it was worth $1000 ....I would not sell it. As once its gone I likely wouldn't find another like mine. good luck in your search to find one.

Thing is a war horse i use it to get to the shooting grounds

1752 posts of diarrhea and climbing. Dude you need more fiber.

Back on topic. It's hard to say what anything in this situation will be worth. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the classification to be corrected in our favor and if it is then they will be worth whatever people are willing to pay for them. Could be $600 and it could be $1500, it all depends how many people want to take a chance and snatch one up. The market always drives the price and it's impossible to predict how it will play out.

When are we going to see those Century Arms VZ2008? They are going for $500USD and getting good reviews.
There should be no problem with classification since these are new mfg receivers. They just need a Canadian compliant barrel.
That would even out the used market pricing.
