Quick update on mine:

Card Received Kuly 23 @ ~13:30

Picked Up my .22 rifle at ~ 14:30
Along with 500rds & a case so I don't scare the neighbours

Now I just have to find a range to go play at. My one buddy's schedule is all over the place.

The indoor range in Port Coquitlam lets you shoot .22, a little far from north van though :)

Hmmm.... I've been reading this thread and I was about to call in when one of my former RCMP friends told me not to pester them, as they are currently dealing with calls about the new regulations. And calls to them are almost non-stop.

Mine was received on June 9th, 2015, as of July 24th, it will have been 45 days. He suggested I wait until the end of the first week in August before giving them a call.

Private sale transfers have also been slowed down, another friend as been waiting more than 2 weeks for it.

Hey guys congrats with your approval ^)

Does someone from newbies want to go Little Iraq on weekends, heard a lot about it but never been there... I have 4 free seats in my car :) Going from Richmond, BC

The Indoor range is only 11 yards, iirc. I'd rather drive the extra few min. to the outdoor PoCo range.... I think they have public (non-member) times ... gotta look into this.

From North Van, PoCo and Squamish are the two closest, and they are about the same travel time for me. And since Squamish isn't taking anymore new members this year, I'm somewhat limited in options.

NR pal

Sent app May 26
Received June 1
Showed up online June26
Called July 6 because Cc hadn't been charged. They took payment over the phone.
July 21 showed up online as approved and issued.

July 27 opened up the mail box and the wait is over going to get a shotgun. 57 days total wait

Picked up a12g Benelli Super Nova. Blasted it all afternoon and it passed the watermelon test. I plan on hunting waterfowl and turkey with it.

The outdoor poco range is a no go for me as I work nights, so they're closed by the time I wake up.. but the new indoor range in Langley will hopefully be open soon: http://www.therangelangley.com/

A bit of a drive for you, though.

Update time for me too..

Mailed June 22 via registered mail from BC

Received June 26 in Miramichi

Appeared in the system (and credit card charged) on July 16 (20 days after receipt)

Called on July 28 to make sure that my application was not missing anything and was told that I could have a reference call in (RPAL) without even having to ask! I guess I lucked out with who I spoke with.

I also work nights, But I can move around my sleep time, or only go out on my days off. It is a shame that the PoCo range closes at 4:30.

As I understand it, its to keep noise complaints from the surrounding area down.... shooting only allowed when most people are at work/school. Thought that's just a guess.

My timeline

Application received June 15th
Pal issued July 29th

This was also with a short delay. I had to call in to confirm what the initial of my middle name stood for. I'm in Ontario as well so it seems like I got lucky and it was pretty quick.
