Just wondering what the OAL should be? My first AR15 is in the mail, and just wanna have some ammo loaded, so I'm ready when it arrives. It's a Colt 6920.
I'm loading Cam Pro 55g for my AR/Tavor.
Load as long as can fit in the mags.
2.245" to 2.25" COAL to fit all my mags.
Some mags can load a little longer. I have 1 mag that will run 2.265"

I would also just use the cannelure as a guide. Seating 55 grain FMJ bullets to full magazine length may not leave much of the bearing surface inside the case neck.
Most other bullet types I would seat to magazine length.
I keep the case lengths the same or very close, and then load the projectile to the center of the groove.
I also use a Lee factory crimp die. My thoughts are that there is no way I can reliably load a 55grain slug to be close enough to the lands, so I may as well make them have nearly identical pressures when the bullet leaves the case.
