Brand loyalty

I started out as a pre-64 Winchester fan.

Then I morphed into a Sako collector (an expensive hobby), but eventually I got frustrated at Sako's long-standing ejection problems and sold them all.

After that phase, I started collecting FN Winchester M70s in walnut/stainless, with a pretty Ruger RSI 7x57mm also in walnut/stainless added in for spice.

Then, after discussing with Crazy-Davey about the virtues of the current versions of Kimbers .. I decided to try one. Well, I ended up selling everything else.
Now, I only collect Kimbers: one 84L Montana, and the others 84M Classics in walnut/stainless.
The walnut/stainless Kimbers are no longer manufactured so, again, collecting them is an expensive hobby (lol).

And yes, all my rifles have Leupold scopes on them. They may not be the best, but I just like them. =)

Leupold scopes outnumber any others in my collection with only a vintage Bushnell (that came with a rifle purchase), and a new Swaro that was such a deal I couldn't pass up - although funny enough I went in looking for a Leup that the vendor didn't have in stock. The rifle brands are all different with the exception of 2 Mannlicher Shoenauers. Favourite bullets are Noslers.

I'm loyal to anyone who puts out a left hand bolt action.
With the exception of one particular manufacturer, who in my opinion hasn't put out a decent bolt action rifle since the early 80's, and that one didn't come left handed either.

Not overly brand loyal - prefer Weatherby but also own Remington, Marlin, Savage, Browning, H&R etc.

Due to a crappy customer service experience I will not drop a dime on anything Winchester - don't care how strong/fast/well made or lack there-of, the "blame everyone but them" for a situation I experienced led me to believe that they not only didn't need by business but didn't want it either. So I spend my money elsewhere.

brand isn't my issue, its who has what i need in a firearm and best bang for my buck. If i have to pay a few more dollars for something better then the other guy, so be it.

Trial and error, and I keep the ones that work. I become more loyal to brands that consistently produce products up to my standards, but that trust can still be lost with bad products and poor service.

An example of a few companies I have had great results with and will keep buying from: Nightforce, Vortex, Desert Tech, PGW, Wolverine supplies, SFRC. There are plenty of other good ones, but these guys tend to go above and beyond, and that is how you develop loyal customers.

Love my Sako rifles,(have one Tikka) and Beretta shotguns. Owned a few other breeds over the years but these ones remain the top picks for me.
Optics are all Leupold
Once I find something I really like, I stick with it.

My cabinet had a revolving door for a while, but looking in there now I have three Husqvarnas as well as an odd assortment, two Rossi's[Ranch Hand and a 45/70/], a winchester 70, a Brno, a couple of H&R s. I like Browning A bolts and Ruger MK11s but at present don't own either. I am fussy when it comes to stock design my favourite is the Boyd's Prairie Hunter or the raised comb of Parker Hales or some Husqvarnas. I was very surprised to find out that I don't love my rifles I like them but they can go down the road to fund another purchase in a heart beat, maybe someday I will find a rifle that I do not want to part with but not so far.I have a short list of brands I wont own again but we wont go there.

I've owned many different shotguns from Browning, Beretta, and Remington. The only ones left in my safe are Brownings. That's all I'll buy now. The quality is top notch, they have never failed me, and they just fit me perfectly. Just finally purchased my first rifle too, a Browning XBolt High Grade. It's so nice I just had to buy it.

In hunting rifles I had a preference, not to the brand but to the model. I really like the Browning A Bolt II. At one point I had 10 of them in my safe, all used for hunting. When Browning ditched the model I began to as well, I just can't work up any kind of interest in the XBolt. I only have 3 A Bolt "keepers" left. So far I have replaced them with a Mini 30, a Mini 14, a 336SS, an H&R Topper combo, two 10-22's and I've got my eye out for a 336SS in 35 Rem. For me shotguns have always been 870's (Wingmaster or Express), scopes are Leupold or Japanese Bushnells and factory ammunition is Federal Premium, Winchester and over the past few years, Hornady.
