You're all close - mine is an SKS-D in an SKS-M stock. Curtton, thanks for the info about the D's coming with bayos. I've owned three d's including my current one, none of which had a bayo... guess I learn something new every day!

I said it had an M stock.....

The mc-5d has a 16" barrel also.

My MC-5D has a 18.5" barrel

Right... Basically they are both "paras". Forgot its actually 18.5... The guide dont state its length that I can see.

Yep. My understanding was origional "D" have a spike bayonet because they started as modified normal sks... Then the other versions came after.

Also the "D" has an AK type magazine release, the M has closer to the stock SKS magazine release.

It seems like there is a lot of different variances in all the D/M/sporter
