A standard factory Mak is prohib (12.6), due to barrel length - the ones we can get are modified but the original design ist verbotten.

Ugh! No point in owning it, it destroys the beautiful lines of the original gun. How come all the nice, "hidden barrel" handguns are prohib!? (aka Makarov and Walther PPK)

Because their barrel is too short (less than 4.2"), or they use .32 or .25 ammo...

If you want a small non-Pinocchio pistol save your ducats and look for a Boberg.

"Illigal" is not the proper term. What you want is "Prohibited". Under certain conditions (i.e. 12(6)), "prohibited" firearms can be owned and used in Canada.
