First Field Run of the Asena 20g semi auto shotgun

I think the guns look great... and my 60 year old pal thinks the one he got is the cats a$$!

That being said.. I have to agree if its got a pistol grip its probably not for the hunting SG forum (in its traditional use here)

Everyone could stand to chill out a bit in the battle of fudd vs tacticool though.. It is pretty immature all around.

Sorry guys I forgot how sensitive you purists are about non-wooded shotguns. Guess all those seasons at deer camp where you compared and measured each others pumps are pretty hard set. I thought I'd bring you into the 21st century and show you that times are changing and hunting isn't just for you broke back Cowboys. I sincerely apologize to have agitated your ######s with these pics. From the bottom of my heart I'm sorry. I guess I'll wait another 10 years until you're all too old to care, and the rest of the hunting community can accept polymer is here to stay.
Here's the deal. It's a short barrelled 20 guage with a ghost ring sight. It's probably a lot of fun for smashing pumpkins and making cool videos. You can hunt with it sure, but it would never be my first choice for hunting anything. So you spend a bunch of time making a cool video then you post it on a hunting and sporting shotguns forum. When it is not well received (partially because it doesn't belong on this forum and partially because it looks like you just want to pump your own tires) you get all self righteous and start telling us all how stupid we are. It's like sticking five feathers up a cats a$$ and trying to convince us that it's the world's greatest chicken.

Thanks this statement made my day LoL . cool shotgun but it is not a sporting / hunting shotgun .

Like I said earlier not here to measure dicks, or analy rape any cats. To me this is a hunting shotgun and that's all it's going to be used for. Hating something purely based on looks just seems kind of well ignorant. It would be like me saying that just because someone has a enormous beer gut they have no business in CAS, IPSC, PPC, or hunting, every even I've been to proves otherwise...... Opinions are like #######s everyone has one.

For the record I'll be hunting with both these shotguns this fall/winter so I guess time will tell if it's a hunting shotgun or not....

Very cool video by the way. I already have this shotgun and must say it is really nice. I'm planning to use it during Vancouver island deer hunting many places do not allow rifles their. 20g semi with box mag and good sights certainly will be best for the job

If it was a 12 ga it would be a decent coyote crusher for sure. The fact that is a 20 ga limits its usefulness. I suppose If you were in a shotgun only zone it would be decent for deer. To me a 20 ga is a bird gun and a pest control gun. Mostly due to the ammo limitations. At any rate I don't have an issue with its looks and if you feel it's a good choice for hunting then fill your boots. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

How's that for an olive branch?

I'm doing some accuracy testing with slugs this week, will need tons of ammo so I can test it with different chokes and even with the extension.

Very nicely done good sir! I used to be a huge fanboy of 12g too, but the 20 is such a pleasure to shoot, definitely not a fowl shotgun but I'll be using it for coyotes for sure. Only 12g I'll never sell is my browning gold hunter, just because it's never failed me and it's just an absolute joy to own (see I can be nice too)

Oh yea, will definitely post them

Alright just had to make sure haha. I'll admit those guns ain't my cup of tea ( The looks and style I mean ) but there's nothin wrong with a 20 gauge! I don't know why people give em guff bout bein too small for big game, they drop deer no problem. I wouldn't think twice bout shootin a bear with one. My absolute favorite bird gun is my fiance's 1100 20 gauge LT with improved cylinder, 1oz #6 or #7 1/2 partridge don't stand a chance! Also it shoots all 3 slugs into a pie plate at 90 yards with just the bead.

In closin 20 gauge is just awesome, it doesn't gotta be a 3 incher to be a wrecking ball on ducks either 1oz 2 3/4" kent upland steel in #4 murders em!

Cool vid, although odd choice of music, but to each his own.
If one hunts with a "black/green" shotgun, then it's a hunting shotgun, no?

If you took a restricted firearm hunting, would it still be restricted? What you choose to use something for, doesn't change what it is.

so how short can the barrel on my 870 be before you say NO!!! or does it depend solely on a pistol grip?

where is THE LINE between hunting/tactical?
