Load data for 308 with berger 185 hybrid match

If anybody out there has the berger data book, i would like to know the minimum and maximum load for 185 hybrid matchbin 30 cal using H-4895. I checked the hodgdon website but it doesnt list them.

Some may not agree, but you can get estimates from using a similar bullet. Ie: Same powder and cartridge, but use a 190 SMK.

At the end of the day you still have to use your own findings over any book values. If you notice the load getting hotter than you are comfortable with, stop. This is another reason to take small steps.

I just did it last week on my AR. Didn't feel the need to test the hottest load of my development. It was over published values though. If you ever have a chance to view published values in older books you will notice they slowly come down as numbers get more and more lawyered.

I used the 190gr data: 39-42grs of H4895. Had decent success with 41grs, .020 off the lands.

Varget: 37.5gr start to 41.6gr max.

Just use 180 grain data. 5 grains won't make any difference. You do not need manufacturer specific data.

Varget: 37.5gr start to 41.6gr max.

Wow I know the Berger Manual is conservative but that seem ultra conservative compared to Hodgdon and other reloading data 41gr would be the starting load for the 190gr smk. I'd be interested to see the velocity claims at 41.6gn of varget.

Berger bullets, I think are really looong across the board....I load them in my 6.5 Swede and they are like flying nails. So maybe overall bullet length and bearing surface come into play? Just a guess.
