took my buckmark out for the first time today

hey guys,

i took my buckmark out for the first time today. i was shooting cci mini mag 36gr but it wasnt resetting the trigger a lot of time (it was extracting, ejecting and feeding properly). i only put 100 rounds down range. i wanted to shoot more but nearly every round was giving me this problem after the 60th round or so. i did a basic field strip and removed all the grease from the factory, cleaned the bore and lubricated with m-pro7 before bringing it out today. is this a normal occurrence with a new buckmark or is there something that i should be checking?
 
Not at all! I would be suspecting a weak or broken trigger spring. It is fairly easy to remove and inspect ( lots of videos on youtube) or just bring it back to the store. I have had a few buckmarks and have never had any issue with them.

i was reading that it could be the sear spring not seated properly in a "V" or something.. i just tried to look for the sear spring but dont know how to get to it without losing parts. lol
 
Not at all normal.

New or used?

Used, someone could have tampered with the sear spring, a.k.a., Heggis flip. Coulda stretched or snipped things, or otherwise not know what they were doing. (It's generally a reliable modification.)

[EDIT] Go to Brownells [dotcom] and order the Silhouette Spring for her. It's under five bucks. So then of course you need a few more items to make up a decent order! But this will give you a light, reliable trigger pull with a factory part, rather than the ‘un-authorized’ and ‘warranty voiding’ flipperoo.

It doesn't sound like it should be "normal". I've had a new Buck Mark since June and the 80 shots I've fired with it have been uneventful and in perfect working order. I like it as a .22 handgun, but I guess I just prefer rifles and that is why I haven't shot it much -- even though I go to the range two or three times a week.

Well blow me down! Thing was out of stock for a while, but they had it back for a month, until YESTERDAY. Put it on back-order, and do me a favour: BO one of the adjustable triggers while yer at it; I got that in a standing BO so maybe one more request will get it moving…

New, no tampering we'll assume, but obviously something isn't done right. If you want to YouTube some dis-assembly videos just so you can put everything together properly, especially sear and trigger springs, do that. Otherwise get thee back to the store whence it came.
 
so i took the buckmark out again today. it seems like the problem is not occurring as often (only twice out of 100 rounds of mini mag).
one weird thing i did notice was that the trigger pull kept getting heavier after each shot. the first round of each mag would have the lightest trigger pull and the last round would have the heaviest. this only happened with the mini mags.

i also fed it with 50 rounds of federal standard velocity and it did not do this.

looks like im going to have to try out various brands of ammo to see which one runs the best.

A thought I have is that if the gun is working properly changing ammo shouldn't change how the trigger feels.

If you find a brand of ammo that helps the trigger feel have at 'er!

...just reread your last post; I guess maybe minimags are to be stayed away from!
