Bought NEA-15 upper, Doesn't fit.........

Question for Chemist/Ryan;

I think this is somewhat on-topic as it relates to take-down/pivot holes.

On NEA uppers (unless its changed very recently), the rear take-down is a hole, as opposed to a slot on virtually every other brand. Do you know the reason behind this? I figured since you sell so many NEA products, you might have insight into it?

cheers

FTR I put together my matched Z marked billet upper/lower set last night...rear pin is VERY tight (better than loose) but can be removed with a bullet tip

My vice block was very tight around upper receiver, but fit.... except the piece that replaces the bolt carrier and lines up the gas tube/barrel nut.. It was too tight to fit. The actual BCG did fit though (AIM surplus BCG) and was snug but operated smoothly (un-lubed).

Overall no big issues.. A little grinding compound on a DIY mandrel in the rear upper receiver lug and it should be ok.

we will see next wknd at the range :)

It looks good though.. and once oiled, I find the finish quite attractive... for all the naysayers I remember #####ing about it I was pleasantly surprised

Sorry, but what was the title of this thread again?

"Bought NEA-15 upper...."

Didn't mention SFRC at all...."I have contacted the company I purchased it from requesting a refund. Has anyone else had this happen with their upper being out of spec??

..or am I missing something?

Nope, I posted like that on PURPOSE; I rather not bash anyone until they earn it.
