Old offer on $99 shotguns?

Panic

CGN Regular

Hi,

I remember that you guys had a few shotguns on an "as-is" clear-out a while back. They needed some work done. If memory serves me right they were $99...my question is - what shotgun was it you were clearing out? *edit- I think they may have been short pump action?

I want to post a WTB but can't remember exactly what model it was.

Cheers,
Sean

+1 for probably the DA Backpacker single. I seem to remember they were $149 regular then went on clearance sale for $99. A number were returned because of various defects and ended up on CanAm's Armsbargain site at $50 for those of us who wanted parts or didn't mind a little tweaking.

I bought two at the $99 price and they've been pretty solid. The only thing I've done to mine was add a lock washer and some blue Loctite to the bolt that holds the buttstock to the receiver.

Haven't there been lots of reports of them falling apart after a few rounds?

Some guys reported that the forend would come off during firing. The problem was the three screws loosening off and allowing too much slack in the takedown catch. The solution someone came up with was to Loctite the screws then add a strip or two of hockey tape on the underside of the barrel to shim it up for an extra tight fit.

+1 on this it works

Its was SFRC, and they were called "Homeland Security 780"
Got one NIB, won't shoot it cause the Tinkering didn't work for most and they blew up on a regular basis, mostly it was the bolt carrier made out of garbage metal! So I decided not to shoot mine, beautiful looking Shotty though!

I'm pretty sure I saw the shotgun on Armsbargain when it was a seperate site. Ryan, do you happen to remember off the yop of your head which pump action it was?

I bought one too. The safety bar broke off :/. Havent shot it yet lol dont even know why I bought it

It was the 780 homeland security...I guess they were hit and miss...I've put a couple of cases through mine with no troubles at all...it's a great little shot gun

No, actually the site I saw them on was Canada Ammo (Arms Bargain) - The post is to find out the make/model of the shotgun I saw at the price point I saw. I do know it was a pump action but not sure of much else about them.

I did a search on CGN and SFRC sold these back in 2012....I got my PAL in early 2014, and had no interest in searching firearms before that date so it's definitely the right Forum for my question.

I do appreciate the heads up on the warning about shooting one of the Homeland 780's though

Not really the place for this conversation as it was NOT Canada Ammo but rather SFRC that brought the $89 Homeland Security 780 shotguns in, but a very strong word of caution to those contemplating actually firing that model... DONT! Your life is worth more...

OK fair enough...

BTW I would recommend the Grizzly tube fed pumps... every bit as strong as the 870 and about $300-$400... you'll be glad you did.

They sound dangerous not sure why people would take the risk with these given the track record, egads.
