I think you can learn a lot by using the Bal.Tip for some of the work, but, in the end, you will have to do some legitimate testing of the A.B. before you actually hunt with it. Nosler's manual uses the same loads for all its bullets of any given weight, so it seems they think it will work in terms of charge weights. But you can never tell what any given rifle will do with any given bullet, so test it for accuracy.
I have had very good accuracy and results with AB bullets after deciding the BT is just too frangible for my liking. Very similar performance, but not identical in the gun, but AB's give very good performance on game. I don't have any AB from game animals as yet (I like two holes), but I have some "tested" bullets from water jugs and wet newsprint. I like them a lot.
