My sig 210-5 cost me $700.00 with two spare magazines The same gun now goes for over $4000.00 and the
magazines are $200.00 range each
So your thinking is that I should sell it for $700.00 or less when replacement is $4000.00 +

Garand rifles were $100.00 in select condition when they came from Denmark, now they are $1500/2400.00
in same condition. No one has an issue with that, Imported Garands are more than that and they are made from
parts new and surplus. They made a lot more Garands than the cz58 military rifles.

What I have found a lot lately on the EE is its a very busy two way street, yes there are a lot of loony's who think that there $600 858's are priceless but there are also a lot of people who think we should be giving our stuff away as well and its just as frustrating, people want a deal I get it and I am one of them. but I also understand the value of that all so low dollar spent as well and i myself don't mind spending a fair dollar on somebodies tooled up AR or 858 if the accessories are ones I was going to buy anyway! unless its magazines haha who the frick needs 15 magazines with any gun unless your going to war but i think a lot of the frustration coming down this pipe comes from a lot of people who want them and can finally buy one and are being halted by the ludicrous pricing??? I sold mine to my buddy for $550 and we were both happy

yes but you can qaurantee if you could buy a brand new James river for $1000 like you can with a VZ58 than the price would not be as high as it is, i should keep my mouth shut there gonna raise the prices of the VZ's to reflect the now super uber rare 858's hahaha

Cest deja fait. :) Un co-worker de Dundurn Sask.

Unlike everyone here, he wants to get rid of it and fast.... lol...

I think there's a majority that are looking to unload their 858 & SAN's to recoup their investment... Heck I counted 11 for sale/trade in the last 24hrs on the EE...

Un 858 avec des mags pour $600 c'est une bonne affaire même s'il devient prohib après les élections... Un Swiss Arms à $3k+... Ish

... don't give me the BS of "what the market will bear" or "supply and demand" either....

The standard economic supply / demands curves still apply.... Low supply, high demand = inflated prices

... and if people are willing to pay it.... Well that's the current price.

Why is this explanation not sufficient? It is both logical and reasonable, when you take the recent factors in account.

I'd never pay the inflated price... but to quote the famous Canadian confidence man 'Soapy Smith' - "It's immoral to let a sucker keep his money"

the problem harry, is that all semis and handguns will go prohib after the election if a certain orange clown gets into power, not just the 858, should we then be selling all our ars, acrs, tavors, sks, xcrs, m1a, handguns, a selling frenzy, semi firearms and handguns will be selling for 20% of their value, if that. Now that woukd destroy a market, but what can you do, ill sell mine to mike in canmore the day before the election just to be safe.
Gun stores all over canada will be stuck with prohibited inventory, a lot of them would go bankrupt.
Manufacturers like nea, atrs would be in serious trouble.

When the NDP get in, hopefully they will determine prices for you, regulating supply and demand under government control.
If you can't wait, you can move to North Korea any time.

thats exactly my point, current value of any goods must be evaluated on current market value in current market $ and current prices, not past value, past dollar, past whatever.
if we want to talk about future calue, thats something else considering inflation and interest.
past value is for historians and for the good old days folks.

This. Supply and demand. A product is worth what ever the market will bare. Its not about what you paid, or what it will be worth 3 years from now. If you can get it cheaper else where today, stop #####ing about it and go get one!
