Would a smith and Wesson 929 fit in any division. It is an 8 shot so my understanding is that you would get a procedural if you shot more than 6 shots before a reload in revolver, however if you removed the compensator could it be shot in production.

Production:
http://www.ipsc.org/rules/proddiv.php
S&W:Also approved: any DAO or DA/SA revolver with a barrel length of up to 127mm
How long is your 929 barrel? (and yes, the comp's gotta go)

Standard: Does it fit in the box? (without the comp) Again, Barrel Length Dependent.
Classic: No. not a 1911.
Revolver: Comp's gotta go. Like you said, shoot only 6.
Open: OK.

629, 4.2" barrel, full house loads.
Blow the A zone clean out.
Nobody will question if you're making major.

People (not many) are using 929s in revo. They count better than I do. They are really nice to shoot.

You can shoot them in production (as long as the comp is removed as your correctly identified).

However, all your moonclips must be behind the hip bone as per production rules.

X1000, Big time street cred and a show to boot, women will swoon

all your moonclips must be behind the hip bone as per production rules

Will be the hardest part

put a dot on that thing and blast in open

Hell ya, doable.

Or run in Revo Minor without the comp, moon clips anywhere you want, learn to count to 6 :p

Either way, go at it, I’m all for Revo shooters and the division, takes balls to do it and will make you a kick a$ss shooter if you stick with it.

Enjoy.
