Registration Certificate vs Notification of Transfer for Restricteds

Weird, it is a three page document I dont know what that would mean if you ever had to go to court and could not produce the third page?

Once you renew your PAL it will be a non issue

Shawn

Interesting point. I have always assumed i have the complete document. I have to call the CFO tomorrow anyway to initiate a transfer so while I have them on the phone I will ask them to email me a copy of my current LTATT...then I will know for sure if there is a 3rd page I am missing or not. I will post here with the answer in case anyone is interested.

mine is only two pages as well (its actually one page that is printed on front and back)

If the new included ATTs are included I'm going to renew 6 years early.

This could get really interesting. If everyone submits renewals the day after D-DAY, how long will it take them to dig them selves out?

Now I have to go re-read the clauses to see if they are more restricted than what I already have.

Still..... snuffing the LTATT nonsense is a huge step forward.

You answered you own question sort of:

Your are correct if you transfer a firearm the CFO must now attache those conditions to your NEW ATT. It does not say that you current ATT and the conditions listed on it are magically changed.

Shawn

Shawn, I believe you are incorrect. I have been reading this Damn thing all day. It says if the CFO has ( past tense) approved the transfer of a prohib or Restricted firearm.........the ATT to take it to any range or gun smith.....etc is now Automatic if you have a licence to have it effective sept 2nd.

So I would say that ya, the LTATT I currently have would be no longer needed. On sept 2nd , my PAL would now come with an ATT for any firearms the CFO has approved .......not ones he might approve in the future ( but those will be covered as well ) lol

So, the Clubs can no longer cancel anyone's ATT for not renewing his/her membership. There should be no needed for people to mass renew on sept 2nd

My LTATT is only 2 pages issued in 2012, and not anywhere does it say I must have the Reg Cert.
May vary from province to province. Mine was 3 pages, issued in 2013 and on pg 3, under additional conditions states
-The holder must be in posession of the Regn Certificate(s) for the firearm(s) being transported
-Firearms may only be loaded/carried on your person while you are actively engaged in target shooting or competition
-This auth allows holder to transport firearms from the place of residence to a licensed gunsmith as a business under the FA for the purpose of repair, mtc
(this condition is no longer automatically stated on the ATTs)
- This auth allows the holder to transport firearms to/from border crossings on the condition that the holder is in posession of necessary US documentation

Looks like there is inconsistency not only between provinces but also within provinces. May have something to do with all the AB CFO activity other than administration now being performed by the Miramichi satellite office.

It seems to me the logical thing to do is for the CFC to send a new conditions document to every RPAL holder in the country, effective 2 Sept.

Which we'll then have to carry just like our old ATTs.

But they won't be ATTs. Yay!

Hopefully they can just email it. I have my ATT PDF saved in iBooks on my phone. Right next to the 2015-16 hunting regs. No internet required to view them.

Unfortunately I am correct you are miss-reading the section:

(2.2) Subject to subsection (2.3), if a chief firearms officer has authorized the transfer of a prohibited firearm or a restricted firearm to an individual who holds a licence authorizing the individual to possess prohibited firearms or restricted firearms, the individual must be authorized

This clearly is about new transfers. If the intent was any transfer the a CFO has ever made it would say "any transfer the CFO has authorized" or "if a CFO has ever authorized". You are reading into to this what you want, not what it actually says.

And being a member of a club can and most likely still will be a condition depending on the actual wording of the regulations.

No I'm not.

Going by your opinion, all the restricted firearms in my safe are currently under my LTATT issued by my Club......we agree so far yes?
So if I buy a new pistol sept 3rd ,that one firearm only, will have different conditions than the others I own ? That would be silly and I don't believe that to be the case

LOL what part of the firearms act is not "silly"

The reason they wrote it like that was to avoid the issue of the CFO listing reg certs, like they do now, and you not being able to transport a new acquisition as it would not be listed.
