Have you had a chance to see how most of the folks rest their stock when not in armour? You'll find quite a few rest the stock a bit higher up in the pocket between the torso and the shoulder, then use the front of the butt stock/buffer tube as a cheek rest. You have to get really aggressive on the sight picture and snuggle right up to the charging handle.

As far as the sight/optics go, you will have to find mounting blocks or rings that are either "lower third" co-witness or "true" co-witness if you want to find a comfortable and consistent sight picture. Numerous site sponsors can help you out with this by providing top notch accessories for this.

What kind of shooting are planning on doing with the rifle? Bench and rest work? or are you looking to take it on to the dynamic range, firing from unsupported unusual positions? Behind cover? Running about like a fool? If we know that, we can help (bombard) you with suggestions as to what the best optic for you may be.
