Whats with all the CZ858 hype?

The " hype " is because they ROCK ! Some folks don't get it and others are just pissy because they don't have one , but the 858 is a really great piece of our gun history , it always will be .
 
The lockup mechanism was eating into the reciever causing dents in the rails happens on all of them for the most part poor design rotating bolt is the superior action

soo poor that even the soviet concluded that the vz58 was a better gun than their ak , and approved the production ...

Hyped about the Czechoslovakian Army acceptance mark of two crossed swords plus last two digits of year of manufacture. The Czech Army used crossed Roman swords as its symbol since their independence from Austria in 1919. The Czech Republic Army uses this symbol to this day on everything down to uniform buttons.

 
not so hyped about the welded up "limiter Block" to prevent the insertion of FA trigger assembly, but such is life in Canada... At the end of the day there's a huge difference between CZ and VZ (the one you shoot and enjoy is always the best one).

No bank will ever give you an interest rate this high. Take the CZ-858 for example: 70% - 120% gain in what... 2 years? And ALL tax-free... :eek:

The 858's used to sell at $699 new when first imported, 4 mags, mag pouch and bayonet included. Today you could part it all out for close to $1500! Not too shabby, eh? And to think of all those pantie-wetting idiots who had a fire sale on them in the EE when word of prohibition came... now the joke's on you, lol!


I am yet to see ANY military-grade firearm that actually loses value over time. Everything I have ever bought is now worth double or triple what I paid... meanwhile, the stinkin' TFSA at the bank has a hard time going up a couple of bucks for over a year now! :mad:

Isnt the VZ58 identical but with the trigger gremlin fixed, new production and a 5 year warrenty. Is there a reason I should buy a surplus CZ at the 800$ price point over a new VZ58 at 999- 1060? Are the materials used differnt? I feel like I am missing something here.
